Excellent
Very good food, brought quickly to the table. The staff were pleasant and very helpful. Due to COVID announcements it was less busy but all of the precautions for a 'safe' place were in place, so we felt very comfortable. I would recommend this restaurant.
Cosy pub with great garden - too cold for today though. Service efficient and friendly. Food a bit meh. Fish and chips, fish seemed completely unseasoned and bland. Scampi and chips, scampi crumb very doughy and again very bland. The scampi and fish batter was very dark and was overdone. Chips were OK.
A very comfortable warm old world pub. There is a big easy access car park. We visited mid week in the evening. The food was disappointing. I had the carrot soup starter and it was thin and with little taste. My wife had the sausages and mash which was really chipolatas and mash, with very small thin sausages. I had the venison pie which had a tasty filling but thick indigestible pastry. The waitress was good and attentive but had to do everything from serving at the bar to serving the food. We are not keen to make a return visit.
Been there in the summer and loved the food and was looking to coming back. We try to support pubs during this difficult times and we came back to The Plough and Harrow. I had the veggie Wellingtn that was delicious, bery well cooked and presented and my partner had Pork Belly that he also enjoyed. The staff are very kind and friendly. Very nice and cozy in the restaurant.
Our reserved table was by the fire in the snug and there is lots of room in between tables. so it felt really covid safe. We got offered and served our drinks as soon as we sat down. Our food came quickly and was delicious. The deserts are particularly yummy. The service was attentive and speedy. We had a great time.
Excellent choice of good pub grub, tasty venison pie. Friendly welcoming pub, good local beer. didn't need the music although selection was ok; as with most pubs wld be better without any piper music at all. we'll be back!
Great example of a very well run public house from the surroundings to the staff always very welcoming and of course great food with beer from the local brewery
The Plough and Harrow has always been a favourite and today was no exception. We were greeted warmly and shown into the snug. Very cosy. The food was perfect as was the service.
Glen was our host for the evening a beautiful country pub with an excellent welcome. Quality food and drinks. Local long man best bitter an d delightful wines. A real treat for a relaxed and enjoyable evening. Highly recommended as a first visit or regular local. Superb looking forward to our next time.
Lovely country pub with very welcoming staff and a personal service. Food is superb especially the roast dinners. Will definitely book to go again.
Chips were dry like they'd been sat for ages, pork belly burnt (also dry) and not once were we asked how our food was. Table was sticky but the drinks were good.
The Plough&Harrow is one of our go-to pub favourites. Great atmosphere, open fire, great freshly brewed local beer and scrumptious pub food right by the river and beautiful local walks.
We had lunch today after lockdown2. Very cosy covid safe pub with a car park. The atmosphere and the staff very amazing. We sat right next to the open fire. It felt very Christmassy and the food was very tasty. I would highly recommend ????
This is a really nice pub for grub. The food is always good and the staff are really welcoming and friendly. In current covid times they are really careful about social distancing, sanitising and wearing of face masks - we always feel really comfortable when we visit.
