It was really nice to be welcomed and remembered from our previous visit ( although that had been last September). The menu had some familiar dishes but also lots of delicious new options for vegetarians. Again another lovely relaxed evening with great food. It’s by far the best place to eat in Sherborne.

Overall very good. We were unpleasantly surprised by having a service fee added to the bill. I think this is unacceptable to add an involuntary tip to the bill. Tips should be given when deemed appropriate by the customer not automatically applied to the bill. You almost force people to pay the service fee because it’s against social convention to cause an issue in public which I believe this prays upon people’s good will and unwillingness to cause an issue. If the staff deserve a tip they will receive one. Staff in the UK are paid a decent enough wage to not reply on tips to live so it should remain voluntary.

Lovely meal. We are not fans of our starter, main course and sides arriving at different times so chose to order it as we wanted it, which worked out well. The food was delicious. We will certainly be returning.

To start with I was in great company which the venue cannot take credit. However, the food and service was first class. The service was attentive but not invasive. The cuisine was delivered at a pace that allowed my party to savour each shared dish. Who doesn’t enjoy dining in good company whilst looking at Sherborne Abbey.

Very enjoyable apart from the use of a bench at the end of the table... it was moved put so I could get in only to find solid table end and no space for legs. Having just had total knee replacement surgery it was not ideal... no one offered to help push it in and fellow guests couldn't get out to help as would then have been unable to reseat. Single chair required. Waitress was not able to explain menu, not having eaten there before a little explanation would have been helpful. She said she thought we needed 3 plates of potatoes for 5, one of which was untouched. Food was excellent and next time, we will be more aware of what/how to order.

Delicious food. As somebody who is not very adventurous with food, it gave me the opportunity to try new dishes, without the worry that there would be nothing I like. Loved all the dishes, especially the pork. Service was excellent, and I was able to book a table at short notice. Looking forward to visiting again, in the future.

we have dined here many times now and have had the perfect experience. we take different friends/ family and dine as a group of 4. Unfortunately we found a member of staff to be abrupt and rude when we asked if we could have a drink out in the sunny courtyard before sitting at our table as we arrived a little early. this was made possible but we found the initial response unwelcoming upon our arrival last evening which we also found embarrassing as other diners saw/ heard the way we were dealt with.

I don’t think we’ve had a disappointing meal here. The Italian tapas concept works well. Friendly staff and you are offered a drink the moment you sit down. Thoroughly recommend the meatballs!
