8/10Staff were wonderful and welcoming, especially Charlotte and Kaitlyn. We were immediately offered drinks while we waited for menus. Drinks were brought promptly and were nicely chilled. Many of the meals were already sold out, which was disappointing for an early booking (18:30) so my first two menu choices were unavailable. I settled for the pie, my wife had the sea bass. Both meals looked very nice at first glance. The pie lid was very dark and difficult to cut. The sea bass looked as if it had been under a heat lamp for too long and the white flesh had turned yellow and translucent. My wife generally chooses the fish if it’s available but this was a poor example of a very simple dish. The pie was dry but ample gravy was supplied, although it was very salty. For dessert I had the crumble and it was delicious, however the portion of custard was poor and cold, I was told at the end of the meal that I could have asked for extra custard would have been nice to be told this when ordering.

10/10I met a friend for lunch on a cold wet day. The staff offered us a table by the fire which we appreciated. We chose fish and chips, which were delicious and a fruit crumble dessert, which was equally as good. The staff were very pleasant and efficient. Top marks there Definitely will return.

7/10We spent virtually the whole day here having booked a night next door at the premier Inn. The staff were all very pleasant and helpful. Although I am a dog lover and a lot of pub's have gone dog friendly there were a few times I thought I was at Crufts. There were dogs barking both sides of us and one was going crazy when the waitress approached the table. This was during the afternoon and again in the evening. Do these dog owners seriously think it's okay to stuff their dog under a table for over an hour, expecting it to behave, leave them at home! It was well we booked a table,it got very busy in the evening. I felt the service was a little slow but in the main the food was very tasty. I thought the portion of the sticky chicken starter was a bit on the mean side and I had a tough rib eye steak. My wife had the battered haddock which was delicious and I must compliment them on the wine list. I must also mention the cheesy garlic mushrooms, they were lush. On the whole we had a lovely day and we will certainly visit again if back in this area. Thank you.

9.5/10The girls serving us were absolutely amazing! Lovely atmosphere created by warm and welcoming staff. The food was very good too. There was lots of pressure and very busy due to it being Mother’s Day but the girl serving went out of her way to get my mother in law a chair with arms, it made her feel very special!! ????

9/10The meal & service was very nice. The only negative was they didn’t have any vegetable sides as the steamer had broken.

4/10Very disappointed as we left without having our meal. We only had a starter and a couple of drink and we waited over 1.5 hours for our main course which was still not ready. It would have helped if we had notified been that due to illness only one chef was available. When it did become apparent we decided to leave. The service staff however were polite.

5/10We have been here a lot over the last few years as it is dog friendly but this time it was a real let down. The portions have shrunk ,the service was adequate and some of the food was cold. Usually the staff have been really friendly, which makes a big difference to the ambience and the whole dining experience so we won't be rushing back

10/10Food was lovely, didn’t have to wait long at all for the food to served. The main reason for the great experience was the lovely waitress, I wish we asked for her name, fab with the kids and just overall really friendly.

10/10We were more than happy with our evening. We really were pleased with the excellent food and its presentation. The staff were most helpful and friendly. We asked them for assistance to complete our Vintage Inns App. They were most attentive to us. We also commented between ourselves how nice the ambience was and how clean and clean the restaurant was. We had a lovely evening.

9/10We have always been very happy with the staff, service and food at The Red Kite. It is conveniently located close to the M1, so we are able to meet friends from different parts of the country there. The latest visit was really good, new items on the menu were all beautifully presented, and really tasty. We particularly enjoyed the "Flowerpot" dessert, great fun, and really very clever presentation!

2/10Possibly the worst visit to a restaurant I can remember. Service was none existent. Shown to our table and had to seek out a member of staff after 15 minutes to get them to take our order which they got wrong. Main course took well over half an hour to arrive and we had to chase that. Have been to other Vintage Inns and had good food and service. The Red Kite should be avoided at all costs. Noticed numerous complaints from other tables. Needless to say we won’t be back.

7.3/10The staff member was overstretched with the number of diners in the section BUT he was absolutely delightful and a very nice lad. The service was a bit slow (but it was busy) . Parents had gammon and this seemed lovely & they enjoyed it . My son had lunchtime menu ‘fish and chips ‘ and I had fish finger sandwich; neither of us particularly enjoyed it. The fish wasn’t that warm and the batter was soggy; especially mine as the sparse amount of fish fingers were it coated in tartare sauce and the bread was very heavy (We left a lot) - it was a bit disappointing. My son loves your chocolate brownie though!!
