10/10Why haven't we been before. The Red Lion is a brilliant place. Excellent food (really talented chefs) lovely staff (Jacky? ) and a great atmosphere. Easily one of the best we've been to for many years. Try the lamb rump....

7/10We were made welcome on arrival and our guests were brought straight to our table on their arrival. However service was quite slow which is something we have experienced most Sundays. Definitely over subscribe on Sundays need to be less greedy for the business.

8/10Normally perfect food but last Sunday the lamb shanks at £25 were served with poor vegetables and mashed potato. Sunday lunch seems a struggle for them.

10/10Although they were very busy, we had a lovely, well paved meal. The roasts are lovely with HUGE Yorkshire puddings. The desserts are lovely too. I highly recommend The Red Lion.

10/10The menu and ambience was to everyone's taste - two young people and their 85 year old grandparents normally difficult to satisfy. But there was no delay in serving the meal despite the restaurant being busy and the attentiveness of the staff was first class.

10/10Although it was very busy, on New Year’s Day, the welcome, service and food were very good We didn’t see the final request for confirmation of the booking from Fork at 6am this morning as we were travelling. We had received a confirmation from you the previous day, so would have been very upset if we had lost the table!

7.5/10Supply problems affected our meal so we were unable to choose exactly what we wanted. But overall the food was good and the service staff were friendly and very helpful, even if some were obviously inexperienced. We will go back, definitely and would recommend for a local night out.

10/10The restaurant looked quite classy with the tables nicely spaced. The service was very good and the food was excellent. The only negative was, the red wines were quite pricey. It’s quite easy to get pretty good wines at reasonable prices, today.

9.5/10I hadn't been here for a while (years!) since we had a couple of poor experiences in quick succession. Happy to say the RL has turned things around - food now really good and service excellent. Will be back and won't be waiting years this time.

10/10Really welcoming and attentive staff and extremely accommodating for one of our guests who is on a fat free diet for health reasons. The food was delicious and hot and yet again staff looked after us extremely well. The atmosphere for a lunchtime was perfect and the pub was clean, well kept and beautifully decorated - highly recommend and will definitely be returning soon

5/10We have been there 2 times now and unfortunately the 2nd time did not live up to our first experience. The food quality was poor, service was shocking and all round very disappointing. Not sure if we would go back a third time now. Price is not worth it either, 2 cocktails and 3 starters nearly £50.

5/10Main Meal was served warm, (not hot). Didwant send it back as partner was eating her dinner. (Which was good and Hot.) Dissapointed with the ambiance of the Restaurant. Was sat in what considered to be the Bar area and not the main part of the restaurant. The Area we were sat in was noisy with a group of lads behind us. Have visited this Restaurant on many occasions before and been very happy with food, ambiance and Staff. However, on this occasion failed to come up with expectations.

10/10I have been before, and equally delighted this visit! I cannot recommend The Dirty Burger enough, that gravy is award winning :-) Pleasant staff and always clean and tidy :-)

6/10Recently refurbished, decor now lovely and cosy and service was good, but food still average( just!), new menu needed with higher standard of cooking, it’s all a bit bland and feels a bit bought in and warmed up!

3.8/10It was a total disappointment as half of the menu was not available due to restaurant shutting for refurb. I had booked as a special dinner & left feeling upset about the experience I booked on line but at no point was I told that there could be an issue with food/ menu availability!
