Staff were mega under pressure due to staffing issues. Disappointed that the prices online ŵere Lower than menu in restaurant. Nit much to chose from.

It was a Christmas afternoon tea - my friend, my 11 year old daughter and I. We arrived and the place was empty. When we asked at reception, we were told to go to the cocktail bar. No one was in the cocktail bar and we sat in a dark room for about ten minutes until a member of staff suggested putting on the lights. My friend asked for music to put on and a member of staff put on a tv but no music ????it was about 20 minutes before the afternoon tea arrived and for £20 a head, it was nothing special. In fact, my daughter was still hungry and so we ordered her a portion of chips!!! I have had a lot of great evenings in the crutherland, but have to say that our afternoon tea today did not live up to my expectations ????

We were given some really excellent food from the festive afternoon tea. It was served in the cocktail bar and we had two very comfy seats. The place was quiet because its a Friday afternoon but this is what we wanted. We had a truly lovely time, and really tasty food. The only downsides were having to ask for plates, knives and a second round of tea. It didn't feel as if the staff were coordinated or willing to serve us. In fact they seemed very stressed and tired/overworked which left us feeling a little uncomfortable even though it was quiet in the hotel...

I booked an afternoon tea for 4 people for 1.30. We were asked to sit in the cocktail bar. The seats were low, the table was a coffee table. I would have preferred an actual table in the restaurant. We sat for 20 mins before anyone came in, we had to ask to get the dirty table wiped down. There was no waitress, the girl at reception was told to come in and serve & she was telling us she doesn’t normally do the bar as she’s only a receptionist. We got brought tea about 40 mins after sitting, We had to ask for milk. I asked for soya milk but it was off. The girl was running about trying to do a million things, you could tell she was very stressed. We finally got our afternoon tea about 45/50 mins after arriving. The tea was lovely, the food was good but the service for a reputable hotel was very poor. I took my mum there for the first time as a treat but it wasn’t a good experience at all. I won’t be taking her back unfortunately.
