It’s lovely there especially on a sunny day! Excellent food, friendly efficient service and has a lovely relaxed atmosphere. It’s a regular meeting place !

Warm and welcoming on a cold day. Relaxed atmosphere in a beautiful setting. Friendly efficient staff. Good lunch time food and drinks menu. We all enjoyed our meals. Only negative for me was they were out of zero alcohol gin

Friendly… and experienced staff… lovely ambiance.. with soft music playing in the background… the setting is fabulous… overlooking the lake … the food was yummy … perfectly cooked.. and enormous portions… and the restaurant was clean and we had a very special breakfast

Good food choices, reasonable prices, staff very helpful. It was easy to book on line with reservation confirmation and reminders. Lovely views from the restaurant which are now somewhat reduced with the installation of the pods,which is disappointing.

One goes to the Reverie for Buckland's pristine man-made lake. On a glorious day like today, a brilliant pre and post lunch walk is simply a must. I'm glad we did that because today, our 3rd visit, I found the food to be mostly disappointing. We ordered: (1) crispy pig cheeks - probably the best of the lot. Tasty, if lacking salt and an element of acidity; (2) marinated artichoke salad w/goats cheese and add-on chicken - portion size was good, except that the goats cheese was very little, less than 1tsp in total, and the marinated artichokes were fresh from the tin, and not marinated in olive oil with herbs, there were maybe 4 halves of small artichoke hearts in a bowl that was mostly salad leaves and the dressing was bland; (3) oxtail ragu on pasta seriously needed salt and the pasta was overcooked; (4) steak sandwich with caramelised onion & blue cheese aioli was a couple of pcs dried up steak, 1 sad sliver of onion and no blue cheese aioli. We'll just order drinks next time I think.

The restaurant and staff are first class. Th reason, I did not rate it excellent is that the artichoke salad and side salad were swamped in dressing which made the leaves go too limp, too quickly and the dressings on both salad ended up being the overall taste.

Amazing staff, lovely food and beautiful surroundings. Ten for lunch and we had a fantastic round table in a pod and the service was second to none. Thank you to ALL the staff for a fabulous lunch last Friday.

We received a warm welcome at The Reverie yesterday lunchtime. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming and the food we ordered was delicious. Lovely location for an amicable lunch and a gorgeous walk round the lake. Can highly recommend this hidden gem in Buckland. The glass pods have an amazing view across the lake.

The 'Big one' breakfast was tepid on arrival .Beans were cold ,bacon was overdone to a crisp and there were no sausages so we had vegan sausage as a substitute which had no flavour. Shame really because on previous days the breakfast has been really good. Coffee and service was good

The food was great as always. The service is excellent. There is only one thing….the room isn’t very warm!! There are signs asking people to use the rear door but still some come in the front. It loses heat very quickly with a cold wind blowing. I’m sure it will be lovely in the summer.
