10/10the cream tea sandwiches had generous filling and were very tasty the cakes and scones were very good the service from our waitress was amazing and what a lovely welcoming personality she had. We will definetly be back soon. Best cream tea in a long time and we have tried a few.

10/10A lovely experience for myself and my friend. The setting had a lovely Christmassy feel and backdrop. The choices on the menu were good and the food beautifully presented. The service was just right we were not hurried and the staff were helpful.

Went for a friends birthday for afternoon tea. Really lovely food and atmosphere. Unfortunately, it’s not signposted at all so we had to ask people where it was as it’s in an area marked ‘private property’. Sadly also, nobody came and checked on us to see if everything was ok or if we needed top-ups on our drinks; we had to flag one of the staff members down when they had finished serving another table.

10/10The staff here were amazing! The system let me book afternoon tea for an earlier time than afternoon tea was meant to staff. But they accommodated the afternoon tea for us and were super friendly and helpful! It was lovely

Lovely staff and surroundings. Very peaceful setting. Afternoon tea was very lovely and my mum enjoyed her time there. She was 80 and candles were put in the cakes and a plate with a happy 80th Birthday decoration was presented. I had requested this but depends on who is in kitchen whether they can do it. We were very lucky.

10/10This is a perfect setting for all events. Maybe more for people with older children. Very peaceful. Beautiful decor. Great service and lovely food. Only had the afternoon tea, but the quality was great x I am returning for a family meal in a couple of weeks

10/10The whole dining experience was superb from the actual Georgian room with its high ceilings and comfortable chairs, well laid out tables, and good menu choice. There was no hurry to finish and staff were very amiable and polite. It was no problem to change one of the vegetables to something else. It was ideal for a special occasion but affordable. Seeing others having the afternoon tea is something I would like to try on another occasion. We got confused as to the parking but there is a pay and display nearby. All in all an excellent experience.

6.5/10The food was very good, in fact the steak was one of the best I've had, so top marks there! The waiter was also very friendly and on the ball. There are a couple of issues however, which prevented me giving a higher score. Firstly, isn't clear when you're booking that this is the restaurant for a retirement village. This is perhaps more an issue with thefork's booking system than the restaurant itself, who knows?We booked afternoon tea at 12pm, but upon arrival were told that afternoon tea wasn't being served until 2pm. To be fair, the waiter did offer to see if he could speed things up in the kitchen so we only had to wait 45 mins. We aren't the only customers this has happened to, so it would be good if the restaurant reviewed their booking details/procedure. We opted to have lunch instead ,which was very good. The place is quite grand in appearance but still has an "elderly folks home" feel to it, which is fine if you're expecting it, but not great otherwise. The parking is also less than ideal. While there is a pay and display car park about 200 yards away, all the spaces outside the restaurant are reserved for residents. This was no problem for us, but could be annoying for those who are less mobile.

4/10Poor signage to the visitors car park was very poor, and not a good start to our experience. The waiting staff stayed behind their station unless waved at for service - need to be more proactive and check with the guests.

10/10Lovely, friendly helpful staff. Really good menu for Valentine’s Day, very comfortable dining room, with comfy chairs. Only downside there were no spaces to park outside so parked away from hotel and it was very dark and not very well lit getting back to car. Highly recommend this restaurant.

8/10A very pleasant venue with good, well-presented food from a varied and interesting menu, nice wine all served by friendly but thoroughly professional staff. Unfortunately apart from the three of us the restaurant was empty, I am sure when there are more clients the atmosphere would be better. Also guest parking was some distance away, particularly difficult at night with very limited lighting.

8/10We had a lovely, chilled Afternoon Tea with bubbles to celebrate a 60th birthday - we weren’t rushed or hurried, good food and lovely interior. Not good that the small car park was full so we had to pay for parking which was not lit when we left in the dark!

10/10Beautiful building/surroundings, staff where polite & professional 10/10 Just need sign up for where to park as it I ended up driving to the front door in the residential area, then had to phone to ask where to park, was advised to go back & turn left & left again to a small car park which was full, then called again and advised to go to main car park which I would have done in first place.
