In the beginning the staff came back lots of times to check that we are ok. At the end my friend was constantly having to get their attention. There were a couple of noisy children running up and down. The food was very nice but they didn’t have a great deal of starters that would have suited me. The coffee machine was broken so I can’t get a coffee with my desert.

Beautiful evening and lovely food, but spoilt when I left. I wanted to turn right out of the entrance, but the grass was so tall you could not see the oncoming traffic. It was a case of i have acceleration, they have brakes. Yep managed it to tell this tale.

Really busy pub with a great Sunday lunch. Dog friendly too. Large car park easy to find off the Motorway a reasonable price and the portions are large.

This is the second time that we have visited the Rose and Crown which is a great half way house between us at Bracknell and our friends in Bishops Stortford. The ambiance is very lively and there is a nice open area at the front of the restaurant which is great when the sun shines. The staff are ALWAYS friendly and provide vert attentive service. On this occasion our main server who I believe was Audrey was exceptionaly friendly and very, very attentive. She was great. As for the food... well OKish. Three of us had the roast sirloin of beef and one the sausage and mash. I asked for a side of cauliflower cheese instead of the greens but they were unable to swop and I had to pay extra. The cauliflower cheese was only ok - it clearly had been placed in the microwave. I thought that the vegetables especially the root veg was a little meagre and my wife thought that the roast sirloin of beef was a little chewy. I also had very little gravy. Two of us had the crumble which was OK, one the sticky toffee which he enjoyed but my wife was very disappointed with the pavlova - the meringue she said was from Brake Bros and she really did not enjoy it. As regards coffees that I am afraid that I judge a flat white by Costa Coffee houses and both were nothing like a flat white. Sorry. We did enjoy our visit and because of the convenient location, we will probably meet up there again and hope that next time the food is somewhat improved. By the way, final point, the wine and the drinks are really quite expensive but same everywhere nowadays as this is where the margins are improved.

We arrived early and welcomed in. A waitress sorted out our wobbly table by stuffing napkins under but it did the trick. I ordered a salad to be told they had run out of salad. Ridiculous at 7 pm at night. I ordered fish and chips which was delicious but not what I wanted. Service, food and ambiance all ok but nothing special. We will try again and hopefully food we want will be there

The place looks great after the refurb. We waited a little while for our drinks order to be taken and then we were told our mains were ready when it appeared we hadn’t yet finished starters. We actually had finished so said they could be taken away expecting mains to immediately follow but it was another good 5 minutes before they arrived. Food was tasty and hot and we’ll definitely be back. I think the delays were just due to how busy it was and I’m sure the great staff have something to do with that!

We meet up here once a month for a catch up, and until tonight never had a bad meal. Tonight though the gravy on the chefs special was so salty it ruined it. We did tell a staff member who said they would tell the chef when they came to check if our meal was ok. Apart from that everything was brilliant as usual.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. We all had a roast lunch. The rib of beef was very tasty and in our view was better than the sirloin of beef. We would have liked more of the former and less of the latter. The accompanying vegetables were not presented very well as they were underneath the sirloin of beef which was shoved on top. The roasties were OK the rest of the vegetables were of a lower quality. There was not a lot of gravy and I had to ask for me which was quickly provided. The deserts were enjoyable. Would probably go again as Rose and Crown was easy to find and had a nice outdoor area and plenty of parking.

We turned up at the pub / restaurant to find it Closed - no light x scaffolding up x had to then find somewhere else to eat at short notice x how did this happen x very annoyed x
