10/10The shy horse is a lovely family pub, the staff are so good with children and service is great. A little expensive but I would rather eat here than the star as the staff are so friendly and food is better

4.5/10There was far to much not available, pizza, pie, steak to name a few and this was Friday evening. Then we were told the kitchen was shut when we went to order our desserts despite just having been given the desserts menu. Our meal was booked for 7:45 and we only wanted a main and dessert. We were subsequently told we could have a dessert and it was fine!

8/10We go to this restaurant about 4 times a year and the food is OK but a bit samey nothing special but could do with a more enlightened menu we choose this place more for convenience than anything else. The staff are very friendly and couldn't be more helpful and the place is generally clean and tidy..

10/10An excellent meal with good service and attention. The pub/restaurant has great ambiance and there is always plenty of parking available. I have eaten at the Shy Horse on several occasions, and have never been disdappointed with the quality of the food.

10/10The Shy Horse is my son's favorite pub. Food is good value and all staff are friendly. We would definitely go back again.

6/10Sunday roast was poor. Roasts weren’t roasted enough, poor watery gravy and beef wasn’t pink. Quite cold food as well… my wife had a really nice chicken pie that I wish I ordered

8/10We booked our table only a couple of hours before we were going to eat. On arrival we were given a choice of sitting inside or outside in the garden. At my choice we sat indoors, close to the open patio doors, so we could benefit from the breeze coming through. The staff were all polite, welcoming and attentive. There was one waiter there who took a shine to my 9 year old grandson and made a little more fuss over him, Which of course he lapped up. The starters were quick in coming out and when we asked for extra bread for the cheese, they brought some out, nothing seemed to be a problem here. The 3 adults all ordered the Sunday roast (well, it is Sunday after all), there was plenty on the plate and we all asked for extra gravy. Now this is only my personal feelings, the potatoes were over cooked, I like my beef medium rare, not well done and our Yorkshires were way too crispy. The desserts, the plates were all cleaned, none of us left anything. All in all, would we go back? Yes definitely, I just won't be ordering a Sunday roast again.

6.5/10The team were very low on numbers and the manager was visibly stressed, the staff were not unpleasant but lacked good customer service skills and the experience was awkward. There were huge amounts of unavailable dishes from the menu, which were not explained until we were placing the orders (disappointment all round). Such a shame as it is such a nice looking pub and the food was so good.

5.5/10Been comming here for a long time . Can honestly say the food has deteriated. Apart from ugenie.the waitres service has also .Sunday roasts where great now not so good meat tough.and the veg ice cold ..sorry to say .not the same as it was such a pitty .OK for a burger but that's about it I'm afraid ..

7.5/10Haven’t been since the refurb. It s looking good. Food really good and some good choice. Service on the slow side but friendly. Good relaxed atmosphere. Will be back again soon.

10/10Very happy that we found this pub. Looking for a dog friendly pub and this popped up. Lovely old coaching inn tastefully decorated. The staff were great, chatty, and fun. The food was lovely and everything was spot on. Had a good chat with the manager and the chef after we had eaten too who were great.. Couldnt fault it and as it was my folks 64th wedding anniversary we were delighted with everyone and everything. Thanks to you all for making it a great day.

6.5/10The waitress was nice & friendly & made us feel welcome. When we paid there was not option to add a tip. The waitress said she was too shy to offer us to enter a tip on the payment machine. The food was average and to be honest I wouldn’t hurry back for a meal anytime soon. The pub is nice & the staff are friendly. Pity the food was a bit disappointing. My son did enjoy his chicken schnitzel. My daughter was disappointed that the fries served with her burger was a very small portion & a bit over cooked. My candied roast vegetables was a bit burnt & over cooked on the top, probably because it was kept in a too hot oven to keep it warm.

8.5/10Went for lunch on Friday, reasonably busy but the waiters were attentive and friendly. Our drinks turned up quickly and our orders taken . Only a short wait for food, we all had the fish and chips, good fish and not greasy, really tasty.
