Excellent
Great food and setting. We had fish & chips and Smoked salmon sandwich. The afternoon tea on the next table looked fantastic we had food envy. The hotel looked lovely too. We would highly recommend.
I found the Restaurant disappointing. I thought the choices limited and the quality only average. I also thought it was less “professional” than I expected
Lovely place, good food, good service. Very dog friendly.
A lovely meal at The Slaughters Country Inn. Booked for Fish and Chip night. The fish and chips were delicious, the staff were welcoming and friendly. We would definitely book again
Sunday lunch. One of the best in the area.
Lovely place set in beautiful Cotswold area for a lovely Sunday roast. Staff were very accommodating when we arrived late for lunch as the kitchen was just closing. They still prepared us a delicious Sunday roast and were very polite and courteous. Thank you! Have stayed overnight previously also too and found it to be a really nice experience.
The roast dinner was great and the food was delicious although arrived very quickly which often had cause for concern (how long has it just been sat waiting rather than cooked fresh?) but the atmosphere was a little strange I had expected to be in the pub but we were seated in a much more modern restaurant style area that really lacked ambience and felt rather cold. I was disappointed and would next time try to get seated in the actual pub area if possible - not sure if you have to request this differently
Great food, atmosphere and attentive service.
There were 8 of us and a baby, we had plenty of space around us which made it very comfortable. The passion fruit and chocolate desert was delicious. Sunday lunch was very good.
We are staying at the hotel. Excellent breakfasts with a decent range of choices. Evening meals also excellent but,as we’re staying 5 nights, maybe a few extra options on the menu would be desirable. My wife has eaten from the bar menu a couple of times and has enjoyed them-steak and chips one night and fish and chips the other. I will do so tonight,as I’ve tried all the main menu choices now, except the vegetarian option. They’ve all been delicious but we were surprised there is no chicken (or similar)option. But the food, ambience and staff are all excellent. It’s an absolute pleasure to dine here!
Service left a lot to be desired. Struggled to attract the attention of the waiting staff and they weren't very attentive. Burger wasn't the best but I did enjoy the location.
Although having a wonderful location this was one of the worst dining experiences I have had. In fairness the staff were polite & professional but there is no atmosphere to this venue which as a country Inn should be warm & inviting but is cold & anodyne. The bar area is small & uncomfortable & the sitting areas mixed with bar dining is uncomfortable & spartan. The restaurant is slightly better but very spread out & no atmosphere either. The steak I had was inedible & I ate 20% of it & at £25 I would not have expected the gristle I was served. On complaint they agreed to not charge me for a pudding which I had no appetite for following the main course. My partner had the fish of the day which she said was tasty but the serving was miniscule again at a high price. I can only assume this makes enough money on the rich tourists so does not need to try. Overall I will not be returning & will not recommend this to anyone. I did not want to give this a star but it is the minimum score.
Lovely food. Brilliant atmosphere.
The food was phenomenal, the service was even better, great venue and fantastic evening.
yummy!
We had both dinner and breakfast in the restaurant. I had an excellent risotto and the key lime pie is the best ever. Breakfast was equally delicious with many options. Best meals in the Cotswolds!
Such a change to be served by well trained staff. Lovely food and surroundings. Well done. Will be back,
Lovely meal in picturesque surroundings. The service was first class, very attentive and friendly staff. We will definitely return and maybe try the adjoining hotel. Absolutely superb
Lovely atmosphere, friendly and helpful staff. Great location - lovely walks nearby. Good food. We had to tear ourselves away!
Excellent food and service. Warm and friendly service
