7/10We were politely received by friendly staff but waited a good half hour from ordering our food before it was discovered that the kitchen had forgotten us. So our main courses were rushed to our table before our starters and they had to be put on one side while our starters were organised. Luckily our main courses were salads and came to no harm. In general the service was friendly but desperately slow all through the meal.

6.5/10Our reservation did not go through, for some reason, so we had to wait for 20 minutes to get a table outside. I had received an email confirmation that our reservation is all ok. The table outside was very dirty and after we asked the staff to clean it, a lady came and smeared the dirt across the surfaces rather than cleaning… Food was good but on the expensive side, will probably look for alternatives on busy Sundays

10/10Kelly the waitress was so helpful and funny. Enjoyed an excellent seabass and sticky toffee pudding! My husband said his dirty burger was very good too.

9.5/10First time at the ’new‘ Spade Oak, and we had a warm and friendly welcome, introduction to new staff and explanation that some were being trained. The menu had varied, interesting and flexible choices, and food was served hot and all tasted very good. Nice to have a reliable and inviting place to eat in walking distance along the river. A busy restaurant is always a good sign, and we will definitely return.

7/10Unfortunately a chef had resigned that morning and our food took an hour to arrive and was lukewarm. My huband's meal was fine but my belly pork was mostly fat and inedible. However the restaurant gave us a refund to compensate for this

9.5/10The area was well spaced out considering the pandemic, the staff were friendly, the wait was reasonable and the food was excellent. Parking was good with a large car park.

9.5/10This is the 2nd time we’ve been recently, the 1st time the service was slow and questionable. Today the service was lovely, although we weren’t informed of the specials. Our waitress, Bridget was lovely. We will be back.

6/10This was the second time of visiting, first time service was appalling and it was again. Had to find someone to get a drink, same again for bill. This was done wrong twice.Lovely waitress presented the food, but got the feeling we were an inconvenience to the manager.

6/10We had booked a table for 2 people for a Saturday afternoon. When we arrived, the restaurant was really busy, and had to wait some time to be shown to a table. The guy who took us to the table took our drinks order at the same time. He the disappeared behind the bar to continue serving drinks and customers. After about 15minutes waiting for our drinks, we managed to ask one if the waitresses to take the order drinks again, and also to put the food order. The food took about 50 minutes to arrive, but was tasty once it was served. Hopefully, the service will improve, as its a lovely pub to visit.

6.5/10Overall everything was very nice and always has been every time I’ve been there but on this occasion my main course was quite disappointing I had the (Dirty Burger ) first of all it’s supposed to come with a beef dripping there was none and second I sent the burger back as was extremely dry , although this time it was not so good I will still go there as all there other times I’ve been it’s been excellent

8/10A lovely pub. Came a couple of months ago and was fantastic. This was the first Friday of pubs/restaurants opening with less restrictions so we expected a bit of chaos! We were right, service was slow and things were coming out at unexpected times. BUT the staff were doing their absolute best in extremely difficult circumstances. Very friendly and apologetic but we were told lots of new staff, lots of staff in isolation (I told them to delete that bloody app!). It’s not sustainable to run a business in these circumstances. All in all the staff were doing their best, nice food, nice drinks, we will be back ????

10/10I have been here many times and always had good service and food. Prices are a bit high and differ from The Fork to the pub menu. Plenty of outside seating.

10/10We enjoyed a really lovely meal. It was a little noisy as our table was near the kitchen. Lovely polite staff and very helpful. The meals are very good value for money.

7/10Very pleasant lunch and ambience; we all know that covid restrictions are here however I found that implementation was somewhat regimental and repetitive nevertheless I am sure that we will return.
