9/10There was a little delay in getting the drinks. Also I think they should serve potatoes with the lamb shank for the price I paid. There was little veg also.

5.5/10Was cold as sat by a window that didn’t close properly, menu was poor with extremely limited choices, music got very loud so talking to our friends became difficult. Felt a lot of pressure to buy extras all the time which felt very awkward Was told the restaurant didn’t accept Dogs although the website said it was dog friendly then literally everyone had dogs that were vocal and some were sat on the dining chairs Not a great experience….

5.5/10When we walked into restaurant area there was mlnopnevto greet us. No one about. Heard voices so called out several times which fell on death ears. When we did get excorted to out table found staff miserable ...no smiles or banter. Been here several times and on some occasions found staff rude. I don't intend to eat there in future.

6/10Having dined here previously we were disappointed in todays experience. The main restaurant was empty so chose to sit outside as no atmosphere inside. Starter was disappointing, chicken parfait was served with just half a slice of brioche bread. Requested roast beef rare but was served well done. Had ordered a bottle of wine which didnt arrive, waiter offered it when we had almost finished our meal. Very disappointing 😞

8.5/10Lovely restaurant with a great feel. Food was really good other than a stater of prawns, which was poor due to the small amount of prawns. And the cheese cake was poor. But the rest of the starters, mains and desserts were very good quality and would return.

7.5/10Food was nice but took a long time. Kids food eventually appeared and then 10 minutes afterwards 3/4 adult meals then eventually the last. Really ruined our first ever visit here. Really very expensive food and especially the drinks too so the service should either match or the price or be significantly cheaper. We won’t risk a repeat visit sadly. Acknowledgment of the poor service would have gone a long way but nothing. 12.5% added on. Shame as had a nice vibe

Had a lovely afternoon tea here and the service was lovely staff very friendly and helpful. Beautiful setting outside in the sunshine. Would highly recommend. Tasted wonderful!

9.5/10This is a lovely restaurant with a pretty outside space. Inexplicably we were the only diners on a bank holiday Monday. The food was really tasty and beautifully presented. Service was excellent. The roast beef was a good portion with crunchy potatoes and rich gravy. The cod dish could do with more potatoes as it was quite light for a main but it combines interesting and unusual components. We also had the burger, scotch egg, and mackerel dishes, all delicious. This venue deserves to be more popular and sort out than it currently appears to be. I will definitely be returning and recommending.

4.5/10Waited over an hour for food to arrive When it arrived it was not what was ordered nor did the ingredients match the menu Reason apparently was they were changing the menu not sure how we would know Perhaps being given a copy of the new menu would have helped but cest la vie

My husband and I very much enjoyed the food, which was restaurant quality. We hadn't been out in a while, so it was a real treat. The ambience was really nice and felt relaxing. Maria did a great job of taking care of us. Thank you. We look forward to coming back

6/10Food is poor for Value. We spent over £50 a head and steak was awful. Desert £20 each it was not so great. overall very expensive and quality was poor. Very disappointed for my birthday celebration.

4.5/10No allergen information on the menu. Difficult conversation to arrange an alternative potato dish to chips. New potatoes not cooked when served, cold in the middle. Jus had no flavour and was very oily. Waitress accepted the constructive feedback and indicated it was because they only had two kitchen this evening. She urged us to return on a better day. I can't see that happening. Damage done

9.5/10Really enjoyed our lunch at the Stables; so much improved since our last time. The food was hot & tasty - we had fish’n chips - the best batter I have to say. The service was friendly, intrusive & there! I have to say the garden is looking great as well with parasols & heaters - it looked attractive. Inside I think looked better as I always thought it looked sterile - more work to be done around the bar area to make it inviting but overall I’m happy that I’ve got this venue on my doorstep. Thank you!!

3/10Unfortunately, the food at the Stables was very expensive for the low quality we received. My partner ordered halloumi fries, which very much looked and tasted like they came out of a bag and had been defrosted. I ordered a salmon and cream cheese terrine - the cream cheese was yellow in the top on some parts where air had got to it, and it was very dense (almost like butter). I came a few years ago and had enjoyed the experience, so was quite disappointed with the standard of food this time round.

5/10So variable couldn’t fancy Sunday lunch so had to cancel - after a Pizza the night before that was not good and a blunt knife to try and cut the practically empty ingredients all but a pile of not so fresh prosciutto- a little cheese somewhere too - however the whole thing was not good. - and then I left most of mine. However two weeks previously we had close to the best pizza ever. Too risky to try again !!!!

7.5/10We enjoyed a lovely atmosphere in the garden at Stables Restaurant.The pictures of the menu on Instagram page, especially for the pizzas, are certainly not representative. The size of the pizza is far too small comparing the pictures for the menu and overpriced for the quality itself. However, the atmosphere in the garden is great for a drink with your friends, especially when there is live music.

7/10Unfortunately this place was very quiet, it was a Tuesday evening so very little ambience. We just took a main meal, I ordered the beetroot and roasted courgette galette, but it was just roasted veg on a large vol-a-vent pastry case and nothing binding it together, felt like a frozen case just baked so hardly much effort and some side salad. Bit disappointing.

10/10Excellent Valentines evening! Highly recommended!!Atmosphere, ambiance, friendly very professional service and absolutely delicious food. Only thing lacking for me was a romantic candle on the table.

4.5/10Chicken was so dry we couldn't barely cut it with the knife supplied, really stuck in the throat and just bad. Considering it was a roast meal that's the most important part. Even after me and my wife left the chicken uneaten on the plate, waiter did not ask whether there was an issue. Had to raise it with them when they tried to charge a service fee of 12 5% if I remember correct which we had to get removed as it was bad enough paying full price for something we didn't eat. Won't be going back.
