We know The Stables well. The traditional atmosphere of the canal-side coachhouse and changing post never fails. Food and service also - all as delightful as ever.

A handsome 18th century inn, right by the road so easy to find. Very welcoming with lovely serving staff, a nice and not overwhelming menu with some interesting veggie choices and nice atmosphere. It’s right by the Forth & Clyde canal so after lunch we went for a walk to Cadder Warf and had a hot drink and a cake when we got back. Very satisfying Sunday outing.

Very warm, welcoming and cosy bar/restaurant. Attentive staff. The interior is well designed. The real log fire and fairy lights add to the magic. Unfortunately the chicken sandwiches didn’t quite hit the mark. They were unimaginative, required seasoning and didn’t live up to expectations. The mustard dressing was oily and the advacado was scraped on and off, chunks would have added interest as would a dollop of good old tomato salsa. Nice thick sliced extra soft bread would be easier to eat than hard extra sour dough . The coffee is very delicious. I will be back for more.

4th time at this restaurant. Friendly greeting at the door. Staff in appropriate PPE for protection for them as well as us. Food was excellent. Will be back in the future.

Great food and fast, friendly service from the staff. Really couldn't find fault with the restaurant. This was my first visit to The Stables it definitely won't be my last.

Meat on my main meal was cold. Sent back. Replacement was warmer. Vegetables on both meals were over cooked and roast potatoes were hard and greasy. Manageress dealt with my complaint politely and did not charge for one of the meals

Lovely food. Steak cooked well and beautiful lamb dish. Luckily not in a rush as was busy although Staff really friendly and helpful. Will Book again soon.
