4.5/10Service was fine. Area where we sat which was near the fire exit, the walls looked a bit shabby. Food generally good but a foreign object was discovered in food of one of my guests which he thought had chipped his tooth. Management did offer replacement meal but my guest declined, the Manager rectified this with our entire bill being covered although it did had already put us off ordering any further food or drinks. My guest ended up sharing his wife's pizza. I felt guilty for taking them here but it has always been good in the past.

2.5/10Service was very slow. My meal was gammon, it was very tough and very overcooked and the eggs were the same. No one came to ask if our food was ok through the meal. We left very disappointed.

6/10Unfortunately my friend and I where on a small table, in a tight spot, the food was nice and service was pleasant enough, the coffee at the end of the meal wasn't nice, both my friend and I couldn't drink it! I noticed there was better spaces to sit in other parts of the Stretton Fox and wondered why we'd been seated in the tight spot we where in! It was crowded and very noisy. I was disappointed as I have been to The Stretton Fox many times over the years and always been a good experience.

7/10Food was excellent but service was terrible. We booked for 1pm but didn’t eat until nearly 3pm. The manager did apologise and offered free desserts as compensation but the fact that 2 of the main courses were not available didn’t help

2.5/10A very busy pub but felt as though either not enough staff or staff who didn't know what they were doing. Food was very slow to arrive, when it did it was cold. They didn't clear away plates after eating without being prompted. Ordered coffees after 30 minutes had to chase. Had forgotten order. A really disappointing visit. Would be visiting again

7/10Service is really good but disappointed with the mushroom starter, it was solid in the dish as if it had been microwaved multiple times and then had fresh cheese smothered over the top to hide its appearance, it was given back and taken off the bill but it shouldnt have even come out like that. When we were told it would be replaced it wasnt because "there were no mushrooms prepped". One of the main meal chicken pies was overly dry inside but the other one wasnt and no gravy given with the pies either, told that these didnt come with gravy. Disappointed really with the food as it is normally good but the service was very good and not a problem when we complained.

7/10I had an enjoyable experience, the ambience was lovely, the staff very friendly but I was a little disappointed with my fish cakes they were a little dry - however the sticky toffee pudding was delicious.

The food was great and everything came out hot and fresh although we did have an issue with the king prawn cocktail. My husband found a hair when he was eating it. We did inform our waitress ,Abby I think her name was, who asked us if he wanted another one bringing out. My husband said no but felt the kitchen /chef should know. Five minutes later our waitress came back to our table and said the chef had instructed her to take the starter off our final bill. We were happy with this and felt the matter had been dealt with quickly and efficiently. The service was a little slow it took 2and 1/2 hrs for our 3 course meal. There had also been some issues with missing items off the menu but this was due to deliveries not arriving that day we were told..We would visit again as the food and service were in general good but just felt the things highlighted above had a detrimental effect on our Valentine’s night meal

4/10Food was not value for money. Triple cooked chips were frozen chips nothing like what he should have been. Beef borgenion was tough and sinewy with cold mash, 50 min wait for meal and gave up on waiting to place order for pud

8/10The food, service and ambience were excellent. However, this particular visit was spoilt for 2 reasons. 1)The small dish containing mushy peas was cracked, which we pointed out to the waitress and 2)There were 3 young ladies at a nearby table, who were noisy and they also had a young child with them, who was allowed to scream and was uncontrollable, so we came to the conclusion that a separate area should be allocated for children under the age of 4-5 years.

8.5/10The food was excellent. We had a lovely Sunday lunch, I had the lamb and my husband had the turkey, both were well cooked. The service was a bit slow but the pub was packed out so that is to be expected. We will definitely be visiting again soon.

5.5/10We ordered a sharing starter that was advertised as melting, when it arrived, other than the edges it was still cold. We returned it but the replacement was only marginally better and this time only the bread we had left was returned. Our mains were delivered before our plates from our starters had been removed and one of the mains was incorrect. When we did get our orders the quality of the food was less than average, it was dry and overcooked and the taste of both meals could only be described as odd. The place itself is lovely and the guy serving us did his level best to keep service rolling but overall it just wasn’t a pleasant meal.

10/10Lovely meal, I ordered a ribeye steak but the kitchen made an error and cooked a sirloin. The manager apologised and offered to get the kitchen to re-fire a ribeye or I could have the sirloin but not be charged. As all the meals had arrived I opted for the later. The rest of our food was perfect. The staff were delightful and we all had a great night. We will be back,

5/10We have eaten at the Stretton Fox on a number of occasions before and have always enjoyed the food and received very good service. Not sure if the pub has changed ownership or management but it wasnt what it used to be on this occasion. We had to wait around 25 minutes for our order to be taken and that was after asking a member of staff. No butter served with the bread as part of the starter. Main meal was described as slow cooked but this seemed unlikely based on how chewy the pork was. We were never asked if we wanted desserts, as the staff seemed to be in a rush to clear away. When we commented to the waitress when paying the bill she said "oh sorry, but there has only been 1 member of staff covering two small rooms". The couple on the next table were still waiting for their desserts as we left. Not good enough!

10/10Booking our table was easy - we were seated immediately in a lovely area - the staff were attentive and friendly - service was very good - we all enjoyed the food - we have been to you on many occasions in the past and so glad we are able to start coming again - always recommend to friends and family - thank you

7/10First drinks took a long time to arrive. Need more staff on the bar. Food average. Carrots very mushy. Roast potatoes left standing too long. Service excellent. Not particularly good value.

7.5/10Our waitress was great. She was very polite & efficient. She took our drinks & food order together at my request as I needed to be quite quick. I was able to get some extra gravy for my large crispy Yorkshire pudding. The food was was lovely; although I’m not sure roasted onions, courgette and peppers belong on a roast beef dinner? Would go again

4/10Food was awful, the triple roast Sunday dinner was almost inedible. The meat was poor quality, the pork mostly fat and the vegetables were a disgrace. Very large carrots, potatoes and parsnips that were old and woody in texture and undercooked to the point of raw. They also gave us very greasy peppers and courgettes, very strange combination. When we complained they said that the veg was meant to be cooked like that! And brought dishes of fresh veg that wasn’t any better. They did knock these off the bill but overall such a poor standard of food. The battered fish was soggy and not the best quality.kept forgetting drinks

8/10Great service. Lovely to sit out on a warm summers day. Menu choice very disappointing for lunchtime. No light bites or sandwiches. Duck salad was very meagre for £13.50.

9/10Nice place to eat. Plenty of food on the Sunday Lunch but roast potatoes needed to be roasted more. Other than that I would highly recommend this place to eat.
