9/10Having used the Swanholme for many years it was nice to see the new set up, The changers look very exceptional, The food and the service a very good standard,the waitress Cerys was very well informed with regards to the wines as well as the food and of a very pleasant manner all in all excellent.

10/10The Swanholme is a lovely, welcoming place to eat or drink. The staff are so helpful, informative and will try to accommodate any requirements. We have been during the day and evening and staff are always attentive. The best thing about it from my point of view (apart from all the above!) is that it is truly dog-friendly. They even have their own little menu and treats at the bar. Other places which advertise as being suitable for dogs put you outside!!

6/10I genuinely wish that I was able to provide a higher rating of this restaurant - the food that WAS available was very tasty and the waiting staff were lovely. The Manageress was very apologetic and informed us about the very poor menu selection before we took our seats so that we could go elsewhere should we choose. However her politeness and magnanimity persuaded us to stay, as it was Boxing Day and finding another restaurant would furthermore have been difficult. Nonetheless, it is a shame that NONE of the menu choices that we had selected in advance were available, and the remaining options not equivalently attractive. Furthermore, the paté that we did order was only available for one person and we had to reorder a second time. What we did eat was tasty and the staff (as stated earlier) were lovely and helpful under what must have been very difficult circumstances. The Manageress dealt patiently and calmly with a party of particularly angry customers who ultimately decided to leave after 20 minutes of loud and confrontational complaint at the drastically reduced menu, however the commotion was another detraction from what should have been an enjoyable Boxing Day celebration meal.

6/10The service was excellent although our meal was spoilt by continuously barking dogs at a nearby table. Far too many dogs in the restaurant. The food was lukewarm obviously already plated so cold by the time the meal was finished

6/10We have eaten here before and enjoyed it very much. We'd pre-booked our meal but still waited around 45 minutes for our mains to arrive. Some of the food was fine but the garlic bread was cold and only 3 small fish finger gougons in the sandwich. It was another long wait for three puddings and the coffee came way before them and was lukewarm. Until we asked, there was no apology from staff for the slow service and although we had an apology at the end, it was only after being asked if there was a staffing problem - apparently it was due to the kitchen staff, some of who were new. Overall some of the food wasn't worth the cost and I'm afraid that on this occasion it was disappointing.

10/10We haven’t been to The Swanholme for a meal in a very long time. But we are so pleased we did. The gammon and curry followed by fruit crumble and custard were excellent. Good size portions and excellent quality. Looking forward to being in the area again so we can call for another tasty meal.

10/10The food, service and surroundings were excellent. There was a real variety of meals to choose from. I had the curry, which was superb and my partner had the fish and chips which she thoroughly enjoyed. Will definitely be going back again.

8/10Booked a table inside, but asked to eat outside as the evening was lovely. Had a table over looking the lake. Food was good, staff were friendly and helpful. Great evening spent at the Swan.

5.5/10It was clear from the moment we arrived that there was a shortage of staff. There was a que to get in, the tables were littered with dirty plates and glasses and we waited far too long for drinks and each course. When the food arrived mine was cold because it had been waiting to be served and my wife's fish and veg dry and inedible. On the plus side, our waitress was delightful and sympathetic and my wife's meal was not charged. When will restaurants learn that they must restrict the number of customers to the staff they have available.

6.5/10Food cold. Sent back for reheat but not much different. Vegetables so hard I couldn’t cut the parsnips. Belly pork mostly fatty. No crackling. All in all disappointing for the cost of the meals

10/10Robbin was our girl of the day, she was absolutely lovely. Ready with a smile and warm welcome, which started our time at the restaurant extremely well. She was extremely busy but she was professional and friendly throughout. The food was exceptional and we didn’t mind the wait because everything was of the best quality. Main meals were hot on arriving at table and the timing between courses was bang on. The atmosphere in The Swanholme was lovely and as it was a long time since my sister and I had seen each other, we were both very impressed throughout our visit with this restaurant. We have always used The Swanholme as our restaurant of choice. My husband summed it up on our way home - “best restaurant in Lincoln of it’s kind.” Thank you all.
