4.5/10Early evening, busy, only three staff on. As a regular at this pub I have noticed less and less staff . People in dining area fetching own drinks (supposed to be waitress service) nobody on the bar, long wait for distrubutation of food all staff very rushed and could not have worked harder. One table next to me walked out.

10/10The food and service are always very good. Being an American living here I like the old English pub atmosphere and it's close to my office so a great place to bring my team or customers for a meal and of course a "pint".

10/10I've had several meals at the Tame Otter and it is always really good food and service. Not being from the UK but living here now it is what I consider a true English pub but maybe a notch up on the food quality. Love the salads always crisp and crunchy. Keep up the good work!

5.5/10The food was very good. The staff were friendly but the service was terrible. They did not have enough staff working and the restaurant was not very full we had to ask for our dessert after waiting over half and hour or so.

7/10Dine here quite frequently it's our place to go to, but tonight the service was extremely slow. We were informed that there was up to a 40 minute delay on food, but it was longer. We sat down at 7pm and our mains didn't arrive until half past eight. Very disappointed. I understand that the garden was busy but we had booked well in advance for the restaurant and it seemed that we were not a priority.

6/10Really disappointed although they did refund my meal. The parsnips, cauliflower cheese were raw. The carrots and sprouts mushy. Also the quality of the sausages in the pigs in blankets poor. The dinner was also cold they did reheat it but all the extra gave had dried up by then. The lamb was good.

10/10very friendly helpful staff. Requested a certain table and as it wasn't clear enough which one I wanted they reserved three that were similar throughout resturant.

10/10Lovely restaurant with great location. Food excellent and we were delighted that even the dogs were catered for. As a vegetarian I was disappointed that the only veggie main course( aubergine parmigiana) was unavailable, so I ended up having the mushroom burger- a processed patty that was not great. I don’t always want to have a veggie burger when I eat out but so often this seems to be the only option. Puddings we’re delicious and overall, our party of 6 had a great meal.

8.5/10The food we had was very good and the service was excellent. We only have on concern. If restaurants cut there menu down to a limited number of items then they should have them available. We ended up having our third choice as many items were not available. Not good at 8.00pm on a Saturday night.

9/10Food was absolutely fantastic; thoroughly enjoyed it; piping hot too. It was very busy in the Tame Otter, last Thursday but service was excellent. Will most definitely return.

6/10The Food was good! Both Starters were yummy! Scallops & Prawns & Prawn & Mango cocktail . Though the slow cooked pork was more like a 'roast pork' dinner. It didn't fall apart! However all in all it was a lovely meal.

5.5/10Disappointed with the poor selection of vegan food on offer. Not even a vegan salad as the salad had cheese & anchovies in it. Asked for a vegan salad to be made for me, which the chef did, however it was a bowl of greasy soggy vegetables for over £11. Not at all impressed & I won’t be back

3/10We walked in and stood by the door, no acknowledgement we were there, girl was on the phone. Shown to table, as we were taking seats, waitress said no pies or rainbow salads today! Waited at least 10 mins before someone came and took drinks order, when drinks arrived put tray down and left us to take our own drinks, tray stayed on table?? Once food ordered we then waited at least 40mins, arrived cold!! Really? So disappointed with the whole experience.

10/10The Tame Otter is a lovely place to eat by the canalside. The service is always pleasant and efficient and there is a good choice of food and drink. Would highly recommend it.

4/10This was a catch-up with my sisters who I hadn’t seen for some time we hadn’t been the the tame otter for a number of years me and my one sister had fish and chips the fish wasn’t even edible in fact there was no fish inside the batter and my chips were terrible although my sister had a tiny bit of fish inside her batter her meal was also terrible although we was given a little money off was not the point so disappointed and will not be returning

9/10It's a great rstaurant with excellent food. It has a cosy and friendly atmosphere. The food is good value at an affordable price. One slight crticism is that when we had been served drinks at our table the waitress did not reappear to take our food order as soon as we would have liked. I went looking for her to tell her we would like to order. We were both hungry. We both had the fish and chips, which were excellent.

10/10My wife and I eat at the Tame Otter quite frequently, and have never been disappointed. We took a friend with us today and, as always, we were delighted with both the food and the service. Our thanks to all the staff.

7/10I had the fish cakes which were lovely but my husband ordered the pork belly which he has had before and was amazing but unfortunately this time it was over cooked. Was a bit disappointed but the staff were apologetic and said they would talk to the kitchen.

10/10Excellent food and excellent service. My wife and I have eaten at the Tame Otter many, many times over the years and have never been disappointed. On this occasion we both had the fish cakes, one of our favourites. The food was perfectly cooked and beautifully presented. Full Marks to all the staff, keep up the good work.

8.5/10Ambience is always great here, it’s a lovely pub. Food isn’t bad at all. However the drinks are steep ! A fiver for a pint is never right and the wine by the glass is extortionate. Apart from the cost of the drinks it’s lovely

10/10Enjoyed our lunch at The Tame Otter today. We first sat outside, it is a pleasant setting beside the canal, moved tables as the sun was too fierce and then moved inside as the wasps were unfortunately too inquisitive. The staff were very patient with us. Beautiful food served by pleasant and helpful staff.

9.5/10Dined out with my daughter first time in a long time was very nervous cause she hadnt been out since covid happened for ages but we didnt have to be cause it was a beautiful the lady who served us was very friendly ...all in all we had a very pleasant meal and it was a super sunny day which made the day . 9/10Great position next to the canal. Food and service was very good. The only improvement would be the bread with the starters. I had to give mine to my hubby for his pate as there wasnt sufficient. No problem for me cause i didnt really need it with my mushrooms.

10/10The food was excellent and the waitress was very pleasant and helpful. The food took a long time to arrive but it was really good when it came. We had sirloin steak. Previously we always had rump steak and were disappointed that it is not now on the menu.

10/10We lunch here regularly and have never been disappointed. Excellent food and service. Lovely staff., very efficient. We always recommend when people enquire about eating out in Tamworth. Keep up the good work.
