Had dinner at The Trent Lock several times, and never been disappointed. Service very friendly and food is excellent. Furthermore, it's top restaurant in the area for bathrooms cleanliness, they are always spot on

We thought we would try trent lock for food as we had enjoyed having a drink or two there. We booked table for 7 and took our seats the waitress was polite. I ordered the Sea bass and my date ordered fish and chips.. about 10 mins later the waitress came and said Sea Bass was unavailable so I ordered the fish cakes with poached egg. About 15 mins later the waitress brought my date a beef on the bone dinner , not ordered. My fish cakes arrived without the poached egg , the waitress brought the egg when I had nearly finished my meal.. we will not be returning to eat here!

First time visit to The Trent Lock for Sunday lunch and we were not disappointed. The food was good and generous portions for the cost. Service was a little slow but perhaps not surprising given the time of day and possible staffing issues. Will return in the spring to explore the outside area and the weekday menu.

The food and service were generally good but the parasols on the tables outside were unstable- one fell because there wasn't a concrete support for it and a gust of wind blew it over. It fell on my husband,narrowly missing our baby's head, who he was holding. This naturally concerned us. It was clear that this had happened before because the wood in the middle of the table was loose from being pulled up before. The parasols need to be fixed in place permanently in order to be safe. I will be making a forrmal complaint about it.

It was very busy. Not enough staff and we waited one hour and a half for our meals which weren’t very good Steak was tough and no steak knife. The chicken was over cooked and dry. Surprised more staff were not put on to cope. Very disappointed as we’ve been before and had nice meals. Didn’t bother with dessert as we did not want to wait again for a long time. I hope you change this kind of situation as it is off putting and people will go elsewhere.
