Saturday of mothers day weekend 2.30 , three of us, pub at 50% capacity. Started well and the bar staff changed a plain rum and coke to a spiced rum and coke (undrunk) without charge...very nice. However , the young lady who served us was unfocused but actually 'lit up' when i chatted to her. After our mains the plates were not cleared at all and dessert was not therefore offered . Other staff seemed unfocussed and chatted amongst themselves. We paid up , left a tiny tip, (took the money to the bar) and cleared off. This is really untypical of every other visit (we live locally) we have experienced. There was a conspicuous absence of a senior member of staff running the show. It appeared to me that the staff either had issues or were insufficiently managed.

The food was beautifully presented and delicious. The staff were welcoming and attentive. A lovely lunch, much enjoyed. I look forward to coming back.

Two of the three lunches were very good but the dirty burger was disappointingly small and over priced. Staff were very busy but polite and friendly when we managed to speak to them.

Nice country pub, friendly staff, good food. Cricket green and open space nearby. Has a garden but we sat inside. Close to Brookwood Military cemetery where we had been on a tour.
