9.5/10We live close to this restaurant and have dined there on a number of occasions. This week was the best experience so far. The menu is not extensive and leans towards gastro pub but what we had was well cooked, hot and tasty. The waitress was attentive and helpful. It was a weekday evening and quiet, but would happily go again.

5/10Good food but dreadful service, 30 mins from time of order to soup starter arriving. Mains arrived at same time as starter. 2 plates cleared eventually by staff and 3rd plate left. Desserts took 20 mins to arrive after ordering. Had temerity to try and charge 12.5% service which I naturally rejected.

10/10For a quiet Tuesday (Halloween) night, the cosy restaurant was quite busy! We received very efficient & friendly service and lovely food! The chicken dish which I had ordered was unavailable, but I was given a very good alternative!

10/10We were greeted warmly. Our lovely wait lady was American and happily ‘translated ‘ chips for our two American guests ! She was attentive without being intrusive. Our drinks waiter was equally good. We all loved our selection of dishes.

2/10I made an online booking and this was accepted and confirmed. On the day, I telephoned to advise we would be running a little late. They said that they had a private event that day and were not accepting normal restaurant bookings. They apologised as the restaurant should have telephoned to inform us. We were visiting Amersham and had to find another venue at short notice.

4/10No staff in the restaurant when we arrived so we had to go in search of someone to serve us. We were told that several of the menu items were unavailable and when we asked what the 'specials' were we were told there were none. Waitress was very offhand. She brought the bottle of wine unopened so took it away to open it instead of doing so at the table. Took ages to return. Presented the bill without the 10% discount for hotel residents.

5.5/10Food was disappointing, meat very chewy, burger pink on inside burnt on the outside. A lot of the food was burnt. This was meant to be our anniversary meal we got married at the kings arms 6 years ago and sadly I won’t be returning any time soon. Shame.

7/10Food was disappointing. Knew it was Traditional Pub Food which is fine but my Chicken burger (or a couple of goujons it turned out to be) was very over cooked. Only one chef on so quite a wait which they did warn us about and we were not in a rush. Waiting staff very pleasant and courteous though.

10/10The food was delicious, and the service was fantastic, very attentive and the atmosphere was so relaxed you could enjoy a lazy Sunday lunch. We had a roast lunch and Caesar Salad and it was cooked to perfection. It’s a perfect setting for a lunch there were guests also having Afternoon Tea which looked lovely too will definitely do that too as I love afternoon tea. The pub itself is caked in history and gives a real country pub feel. Would highly recommend

8.5/10A wider menu choice would have been good on a bank holiday Monday. We had lunch brunch and sarnies only which was a little disappointing. However the fish and chips were excellent which we chose. The cheesecake could do with more biscuit please.

10/10A Lovely Sunday meal with my family. Everything was great and the four of us really enjoyed the experience. The beef and Duck meals were lovely, we asked for more gravy and it arrived in a timely fashion.

10/10The third time I've eaten here -- and the most memorable! A great window seat yummy, nourishing food and great service. Esteban was not only an efficient waiter but also a delightful, friendly, positive presence. The Kings Arms has a great asset in him. Thank you.

2/10We went there for a Sunday Roast as advertised on their website. When we got there it took us 5 minutes to even get a menu in an empty restaurant and we were told they had run out of roasts. We left and went to a better restaurant up the road and had the best roast for a much cheaper price!

5/10I dined there earlier this year and the food was really good and with that in mind booked again. Only one starter was available, the choice of main was restricted. Ordered the Sunday roast beef. The meat was tough and the Yorkshire pudding was a third the size of my previous visit. My wife couldn’t cut her meat and ordered a steak knife to no avail and gave up. Shame really as we invited both my daughters and really built up the meal, fortunately they didn’t order the roast! Not sure whether I’ll book again????

9/10I gave the food good as I felt that the restaurant was under pressure as there was a large 21st birthday gathering. The presentation was excellent but the duck I had was rather too well cooked for my liking.

10/10We booked for a Mother’s Day Afternoon Tea, Staff were friendly and food allergy was catered for. Food was delicious and complimentary glass of Prosecco was a nice touch. Would come back.

7/10My partner liked it but I was disappointed not to my taste at all. He had the salmon and said it was very nice I had the duck and it was very chewy and I did not like the taste. The dessert was not great either. Staff were fine

4/104 of us were booked for Sunday roast and had high hopes given previous reviews. The main issue was the service. We ordered drinks and olives which took 45mins let alone the drinks didn’t come out all at once. They stated that they had been busy earlier but it was quiet when we were there so no excuse for such slow service. The food finally arrived after 1.5h and the beef was so over cooked (albeit the chicken was reasonable). We’d ordered another glass of wine and with chasing 3 times finally got it before the meal ended. Essentially complained to the manager who took off 50% of the total bill but ultimately don’t waste your time here - plenty of other nice pubs in Amersham!

7/10The restaurant, once we found it (there was no sign indicating where it was in a maze of buildings) was quite comfortable, I appreciated having a cloth napkin, but the excess cutlery and wine glasses were not removed from our rather small table. The waiter was helpful when discussing the rather restricted menu.,since I eat neither meat nor poultry I had to opt for the only fish course

9.5/10Best roast we’ve had in a long time. Generous portions of beef, fluffy yorkshire puds, amazing cauliflower cheese, well roasted potatoes, carrot & parsnip and a fabulous rich meaty gravy. It was very quiet though - not sure why.

5.5/10We arrived at 1pm on a Tuesday for a quick team lunch during the working day. The bar was very quiet. We were shown to our table and the server took a drinks order for the two men but ignored the two women. We then placed our drinks order when he bought the first two. The server took a while to come and take our order for food. The food didn't arrive until 2pm, despite chasing for it. Not really what we had in mind for a quick informal team lunch. The food was quite nice but the service was not as expected.

10/10Amazing restaurant in Old Amersham. The food was scrumptious and the service was impeccable. Cannot fault it at all. Definitely will eat there again .
