Very busy place, having recently been re-opened after a refurbishment. Large car-park nearly full. Familiar and satisfying food (quantity rather than quality) - good value, and excellent service from Annalise. Will return, though maybe not at 5pm on a Sunday!

Typical hearty carvery meal, but - for some reason - slightly cheaper food (and beer) than other Toby restaurants in the area on Sundays (normally the most expensive and busiest day of the week).

We had a lovely family meal , it was very busy but the whole place need a do up and it a good scrub . The food was good with plenty variety. Our waitress was helpful , friendly and funny x

Saturday mid-afternoon turned out to be a nice quiet time to visit - no queues, and all the carvery meats available. Usual quality meal - always good value. Staff still seemed to be busy but were friendly and efficient - special mention for Nikki. Plan to return soon when I need a quick but hearty meal.

Food was excellent only thing I didn’t like was when I showed the staff member my code she took my phone away and as I had opened my phone to show her the code this concerned me that access to other photos and apps could potentially be done. There is nothing to suggest this was the case but it did make me slightly anxious at the time

Nice place for a carvery...we had a table booked for 8 adults and requested a high chair all ready for our time slot all of us enjoyed the food ....bit disappointed we where asked to leave the table after an hour as they needed it for other people ....but over all food was good staff was ok polite ..no concerns really .

The floor in the kingsman room had a lot of food on it it was obvious it hadn't been cleaned between customers The meat you are given is pitiful it was very nice but for a grown man I would give more to the kids it couldn't have been cut thinner

I was disappointed as I am a pescatarian and the restaurant did not have the fish option available. If I had known this before booking, I would have gone elsewhere. I did not think there was much variety of vegetables. It seemed like a lot of the sides where carbohydrate based such as roast potatoes, mashed potatoes and potato bake, Yet there where only three vegetable options.

Have been going to The Toby on Aigburth Road for years was always happy to drive the 8 miles to get there. Delighted to be able to book a Sunday lunch again. Very disappointed in the service and the food. Waiting time to be served was over 10 minutes, had to wait in a que which was very hot and stuffy. Chef offered all cuts of meet, Lamb ,Gammon, Beef and Turkey. All apart form the Turkey was over cooked and very dry. The meet was also very small in portion .As I told the chef what to put on my plate, there was no consideration for presentation, I ended up with a load of mush !! And the roast potatoes were hard . The whole meal was discussing. We would usually have a pudding and coffee, but to be honest we could't wait to leave. and we will not be going back again. Sad , as i have said , we had been going there for years.

We Have eaten at the Toby Carvery, Aigburth, many times. On our last two occasions - including last Saturday, the food wasn't hot enough, and some items seemed a bit sloppy, compared to other visits.

Good food, friendly, helpful staff. One complaint they wont let adults have a childs portion like other carvery places. As we have small appetites there is alot of waste.

Got exactly what we expected food wise. The staff were excellent however, our server was very attentive. My parents were struggling on a decision and she made suggestions as to meat and veg choice from the carvery for them. She understood that they could not hear well and needed time to make a choice. They had a good time

Been here many times, love the place, didn’t really enjoy today’s visit. Waitresses standing around talking in loud voices. Felt we were in the way. Waited quite a while before a “chef” came out to serve us. Duty manager was the only member of staff who acted professionally. Quite off putting.
