5/10Food was quite dried out today. Spoke with chef and was told it had all been refreshed 10 mins earlier but find it a little hard to believe Shame had many nice meals here and it wasn’t overly busy

3.5/10I had invited my friend and recommended The Toby. Sadly we will not go again. The chef was so rude shouting at her thst she used the wrong thongs to pick up potatoes. The waitress looked so fed up and barley engaged with us. The food was not like it used to be. The overall feeling was that customers were a burden and not a value. So sad really. I never wrote reviews but felt strongly about the service today. Not sure why it's gone this way but there definitely wasn't a warm welcome, the 4 people on table opposite also told waitress they were unhappy.

7/10We went to the Toby Carvery in Brentwood we had booked a table for 5. The meal might have been nice but it was cold. How can you have a cold roast dinner !!! We didn’t complain early enough. When I got home, I live in a retirement flat I spoke to the people there and they said they had stopped going due to meal always being cold. Our booking was for 12.30 must have been horrible if we had a later booking.

5.5/10The service level was a little disappointing, with no real interest being shown, and a twenty minute wait for a chance to order a sweet. The food was good, though. You seem to want to call the restaurant The Fork, when it is well known as The Artichoke, and all your signage refers to The Artichoke! I suggest that you leave well alone.

9/10I have visited this restaurant many times and have always found the service and the food excellent. Unfortunately on my last visit although the service was excellent I was disappointed with with the food in particular the meat. It was very fatty, not much meat and this spoiled my experience. I will be visiting again this week and hope the whole experience goes well.

10/10Love the restaurant but by booking it via the fork we didn’t get the table we asked for as it doesn’t come up on the Toby booking through fork. So need to book direct with the Toby

10/10We were made welcome on arrival and given a choice of tables that reflected the request made when booking. One of the members of our party is elderly and not very mobile. Every member of the team was particularly helpful to him throughout the meal. The food quality, presentation and carving deck team were first class. All in all, a really good evening.

10/10This is our local Toby Carvery and we were served by our favourite waitress, Helen, who even remembered our drinks after so many months. The service was excellent and so was the food. A thoroughly enjoyable evening

6/10A little disappointed with the food here on this visit. Strange plastic taste to onions in gravy and cauliflour cheese was just cauliflour. It was just ok, not really as enjoyable as it’s been on other visits. 2 of the options we chose for dessert were not available. I’m not sure i was happy that it was back to self service as the Gravy and sauces were on the side where anyone could sneeze and cough on them. ????. Having said that the waitress was friendly and the restaurant itself is very nice, we were seated in a great little window spot. There was lots of hand sanitizer place around the restaurant ???? but no sign of masks on this occasion.

9.5/10Very pleasant atmosphere with friendly staff, even though they were kept extremely busy. Food was hot and tasty with a good selection of meats and vegetables. My only criticism is that one of the desserts, the 'sponge of the day' was described in the menu as being accompanied by a fruit compote but this was not the case. Overall great value for money.

8/10We had a great time my mother was 86 and we nearly lost her due to covid at Xmas so once we were allowed to celebrate her birthday which was in April thank you for making it a lovely afternoon our waitress was lovely and friendly
