Food was ok but after we finished food stood up and was approached asked if we paid before even got to the bar to bar didn't think that was right put me off tbh thuaght was wrong

The pub needs refurbishing badley old and tired red flock wallpaper on the wall has not seen a lick of paint in years we enjoyed our food and the staff are great very helpful but it need to be modernised desperately

The food was beautiful there was so much choice even lamb there were 10 of us and loads of room the staff were lovely the only thing that let it down was it was so hot in there it was so hot I have ashma and it started it off I had to use my inhaler please turn the heating down it was uncomfortable

Staff were pleasant and helpful. The food was not that good. It was cold and the roast potatoes were dry and not very nice. No boiled potato option. You could not tell if there was gluten free gravy.

Disappointed that the usual pub food was not on offer, only Sunday roast and a couple of veg dishes. My melting veg roast was very small, the roast potatoes were overcooked, the hottest thing on the veg was the black handles of the food tongs, needed napkins to use them. Never again on a Sunday!

Was completely new to Toby carvery so had no idea what we were doing, got given a table with no instructions or anyone coming up for our order. Where the food was served were dried old apples, carrots and parsnips. It was an extra £2 for a king plate just so you could have sausages and they were unpleasant.

Easy access. Such an assortment of meat and vegetables and all the different sauces and gravy, couldn't fault it. Generous serving of meat.. BUT my husband is 92 and I am 84, we were seated in smaller area which had a step going down into the seating area. Returning carrying our food I found I had to watch my balance. Would prefer to be on main floor.

Lovely restaurant and friendly attentive staff. Food was excellent but the wait was a little long due to only one member of staff serving, should have been two as the main server was a little overworked in my opinion.

Firstly, I must say our server Jono was exceptional. Very welcoming, and a lovely happy personality. Very efficient. Then it went downhill rapidly. Drinks order - no draft beer, no Guinness, no passion fruit soda. So none of had what we wanted. Carvery - my turkey was cut so thin and very little of it, more like a child’s portion. The leek veg tray was empty, apart from dried up crust. I asked if there was any fresh and the chef / server just shrugged and said ‘I don’t know what she’s doing’. So I asked him if he could find out - his attitude was couldn’t care less. There was one small piece of cauliflower left so I asked was there any more, so a new dish was brought - I shouldn’t have had to ask as it was evident the veg on display all needed replacing. Dessert - No cream!! Really? So no Eton Mess. No profiteroles. No apple pie. We were then told only ice cream, apple crumble or choc fudge cake. My husband eventually ordered crumble with ice cream, he was served custard - by then I had lost the will to complain again. We really felt so sorry for Jono as he must have been so embarrassed to have to keep informing us that they had run out of so many of the things we wanted. Definitely will avoid this restaurant in future. We have eaten at so many good Toby Carvery restaurants over the years, but this one was just downright awful! A birthday treat for a friend turned into a very disappointing evening.
