9.5/10I'm a broadcaster who had a programme mainly directed at older people cruelly taken off by the BBC. Despite this we are in touch with our listeners from as far afield as Calcutta, Adelaide, Ontario and The Bronx are still in touch with us and we often see the more local ones as well as the Adelaide ones at the Eden Park Toby. Its just the right ambience for us and yesterday we were with a couple from Hampshire. The food, service and cheerful contract with a delightful serve combined to make it a perfect day. Thank you so much,

10/10For some reason you were short of staff and we were served by a gentleman who appeared to be some level of management. It made not the slightest difference to the brilliant service we had. It reminded us of last year's Mothering Sunday and the way you dealt with the onrush of customers. The Toby - our ravourite eating place. Thank you!!!!

8/10It was great for the children (aged 5 and 2). They were well looked after. Unfortunately, having been unsure about having desserts, the waitress said she would change our order to the 2 course special price, but she didn't, so we paid full price for the desserts ie we were overcharged. Nice carvery (even for a vegetarian) though food could have been hotter.

8.5/10We love the Toby. In fact we had three Toby meals in five days a few weeks ago and as a broadcaster we have re-unions for our listeners at Beckenham and also Caversham Bridge. The service is friendly- in fact we recall the last Mothering Sunday when the Beckenham Toby was packed out and the saff dealt with it admirably.

9/10Booked on-line very easily, had no wait on prompt arrival, service was extremely friendly and quick considering how busy it was. Part of my food (beef in yorkie wrap) was not eatable, beef and roasties were fine ,could have done with a bit more glaze/gravy. My chocolate pancake was to die for 5 star, finished with a nice capucino. Total very reasonable which included a large glass of wine. I will be returning again.

4.5/10Once we had been seated the service was non existant. No one came to us to ask if we wanted any more drinks and no one came to the table when we had finished the dinner to see if we wanted dessert. I had to go and find someone and the only person was the chef serving the meat! Even when we had finished the dessert there was no one to ask for the bill - I had to go and find someone. Also the meat and potatoes and veg were barely warm. Very disappointing after so many good times there before

10/10The staff were polite and friendly. Food was hot with plenty of different vegetables which were topped up regularly. Good evening and happy atmosphere.

6.5/10The member of staff that we had serving us was great! (Ben) Food was fine, little skimpy on the meat but overall it was OK. Was a little disappointed with my crumble. It wasn't much of a crumble as there was barely any on top and it hadn't been baked long enough so was more like flour. Manager wouldn't take off bill so they did they're best to rectify it by adding more crumble and baking it for longer.

10/10I have never before been to the Carvery during a weekday - will definitely not be the last. Food was excellent. Service was spot on. A lot quieter perfect for me as my husband has Dementia. Great value for money. I cannot fault the Carvery at all.

7.5/10I was pleased with food choice (carvery and vegetarian in party) especially seeing new dish of dumplings. Presentation good too. Staff all polite. Reason marked ambience down was a family let their children run around and were screaming. Where they were running was where the staff were bringing in drinks/desserts. This was an accident waiting to happen and needs to be risk assessed. When we go with our grandchildren to Frankie & Bennys they sit the families with children in the same area. This lessens their ability to annoy anyone else. At times we lost the thread of our conversation. Luckily they left so we could then enjoy the rest of our meal in peace.

5.5/10We have been to this Toby on a number of occasions before but this was our worst experience. Service was almost non existent and the manager wore scruffy jeans and creased shirt. When I pointed out the Pepsi machine was defective he walked away and did not check it. We left as quickly as possible.

4/10Food had been standing under heated lights way too long and was all dried up and looked terrible. Like wise it tasted awful. There were flys everywhere on all the food and there were 3 on the turkey and we had to keep swatting them while we ate. The waitress couldn’t stop apologising. Won’t be going again.

10/10Very inviting & festive atmosphere. Friendly, polite & helpful staff. Restaurant was clean. We had fast service with excellent food. I would definitely recommend their new chocolate & orange desert. Great value for money. Would recommend this restaurant to anyone.
