6/10Not eaten here before but remember the Bay horse pub. The car park busy so thought that was a good sign. I travelled from Nottingham to take my Dad, 89 for a Xmas dinner.+ Staff were great and friendly, place e was clean but little Christmas atmosphere. Apart from a tree or two. No piped music which would of improved things Food shocking quality dried out vegetables. The meat was 1 slice of leather sole beef and ex small slices of tasteless Lamp but you can coat ited in a gloopy grave. The veg had no taste and flavour. The roast potatoes were not fresh and awful. We could face a pudding which looked OK coming out the kitchen. So very disappointed and unlikely to visit again. Up the quality and reduce the proportions make it a memorable treat not a horrific treat of school dinners or prison food. Look after your customers and they will look after you.

8/10Whilst the Lamb and Turkey were great unfortunately the vegetables were only luke warm. It was very disappointing as for years we have used the Bay Horse as our Thompson family "go to" restaurant for our special occasions and when our family visit from their homes in the South in Uk, Brazil & the ROI

10/10Love to refurb at the Formby Toby Carvery. The staff are amazing and service excellent. Always plenty of good choices to choose from and food is cooked to perfection.

5.5/10We usually have a great experience here, however, the food was only lukewarm, so you could taste fat more on the meats. Also when we arrived we were asked if we wanted pigs in blankets, we thought this was part of the carvery price. We were not advised that it wasn't. So were shocked when it appeared on the bill, we only ate a few of them too.

2.5/10This place is very tired, tables, chairs and decor very dated. Even the christmas decorations were dated. The food was absolutely awful, dry roast beef, pork with no crackling as stated on the menu. The veggies were dry, overcooked and tasteless. Tobys famous gravy, disgusting.

7/10We did not enjoy our carvery on this occasion the meat was of poor quality tough ,our previous visit on 24/10/21 was excellent quality ,,we will try again in the near future during mid week , before writing off totally, regards Mr J Townley

10/10Taken to our table. Waitress arrived straight away to take order. Went to get our carvery which was delicious. Couldn't really find fault with anything !
