7/10Plenty of vegetables and choices of roast meats. They were a little dry but it was still a good value roast dinner. The portion was generous. The crumble dessert was also very tasty!

10/10A lovely smile on entering the restaurant and we were soon escorted to our table. The food was very good (and drinks)! My only small complaint would be that the food could have been hotter.

5.5/10Staff were efficient and pleasant. Please ask customer if they'd like ice in their drinks, especially when the drink is poured before bringing to the table. Well done with the quality of the meats and roast potatoes. All veg was mushy from being sat on the hotplate for a long time. Well done for signs that say the serving spoons were hot however a couple of them were dangerously hot.

5/10I have been to Toby Carvery many times as a couple or with a group and this was very disappointing. It was a Sunday lunchtime and I was looking forward to Lamb but this was tasteless and the vegetables were raw. The Yorkshire puddings tasted of fat and we were glad to get home.

3/10The waitress was rude, not given time to look at the menu . Put in a tiny corner. Why have menus on the table if there is no option to choose from? And more filling in the pastry.

6/10Firstly they couldn't find our booking. Then, the wait for initial and subsequent service was just too long. Not welcoming and felt like we were an annoyance to the waitress when asking for drinks or even the dessert order.

6/10Good table..Asked waitress for a refillable coke only to find out their machine was broken! She should have known this and pointed it out. Had to go to the bar and que along with everyone else! 2 very small slices of meat served probably not even 50gms in weight. Chefs need to up portion a bit!! Cauliflower cheese watery/tasteless and no cheese. Potatoes were good. Signature gravy had no flavour or beef stock in it! All in not a great experience.

4/10Firstly, Jess, who served us was fantastic! The manager was the only person there, NOT wearing a badge. Extremely unprofessional to make the other staff wear name badges but not wear one yourself. Think we know why he didn’t wear one though, read on! Now onto the rest. We were left standing in the foyer for at least 10mins, with nobody talking to us about “I’ll be with you in a minute” or anything we else, either nobody was there or they totally ignored us! Eventually we were seated in a booth in line of sight ( and within DRAUGHT) of the front door. A family had been seated on the other side of the door from the carvery. Nobody told them it wasn’t table service and that they needed to pay at the bar for everything, instead the “manager” shouted across the bar to the server and completely embarrassed the customer, everyone turned to look! The “manager” was not in control of anything. He should have had a dedicated “greeter”, seating everyone and making sure nobody felt neglected, this did not happen. We had to get up and ask some people if they would mind closing the front door as our table was right opposite and we were getting blown away by the cold breeze. The food was okay. Roast potatoes had been rushed, were big and only just cooked. The gravy was thin and the Yorkshire puds were pale, instead of golden and the veg wasn’t as hot as it should have been. My daughter said the sweetcorn was perfect though! Drinks didn’t come until half way through the meal, with the head on the real ale completely gone! All in all, this was our second visit, but will be our last! Extremely poor management, food okay but slow drinks service and team stretched too far with the manager not being very effective in his role. Avoid and choose somewhere else.

10/10Our waitress, I believe it was Emma was super bubbly and always on the go. The food was really lovely. Overall a very enjoyable experience . Will definitely be back.

10/10Greeted by a lovely bubbly smiling young lady who took us to our table and told us where to find everything and explained clearly and very attentive. Hope she regained her voice by the end of her shift.

7.5/10Disappointed that I booked and requested a booth near to carvery as my mother is over 80 and can’t walk far and wanted a comfortable seat for her. Was seated near to the entrance of restaurant which was too far for my Mum so I had to get both of our meals in the end. I made it clear I was not happy, the young girl did say restaurant was fully booked and didn’t offer any alternative. I saw her Speaking to who I thought was the manager but he did not attempt to come and see us. We visit this restaurant often so are disappointed with the way this was handled when it was clear my Mum struggled to walk. It took a while for someone to notice we were waiting for drinks but the waitress that attended was very pleasant and did ask about meal as we were eating

10/10the restaurant, was pleasantly decorated & very clean, the service was welcoming with a smile & very polite, the menu was well set out and fairly priced, the food was well laid out, & very tasty & cooked to a delight, all the staff were also well organised, we will be calling back to this little treasure in Swindon.

10/10We went to Toby Carvery last Thursday and didn’t realise you have to book a table , so we couldn’t eat there , so booked for this afternoon and place was practically empty , food was good and hot service first class

7.5/10I would have liked a bigger table but I guess I should have asked. Staff were friendly and enthusiastic. Food was not as hot as it might have been and the meat (pork) was dry but this is unusual for this firm favourite

7/10Beef was very tender & moist, and roasties nicely browned. Portions are rather good , so just about managed to finish my meal. Would have prefered a junior portion, but was told that was not available to me. Shame the place did not have had a refurb during lockdown, as it looks rather old & tired. House wine was quite pleasant. Will go back again sometime.
