8.5/10The food was excellent, my only comment is that it could have been warmer, I do like my food hot. Maybe a microwave in the sauces area would be an option for customers to use should they wish to have their food really hot.

9/10When I had a visit to your toby carvery it was lovely always hot food I have always loved my visits there, But when I had my visit on the 13th of this month it was very poor the food was nice but the service was very poor... The manger come up and said sorry and that was about it....I had to go up to the counter as our pudding had been stood there for a 10 minutes As they had rang the bell twice... So I asked if they could do fresh for us, That is the only thing that was wrong that night.

7.5/10Lovely ambience and nixe and warm inside. Service very good apart from hard to get anyone's attention at the end. Food okay, turkey lovely, beef a bit disappointing and roast potatoes looked nice but quite bland tastewise.

10/10I was unable to make my 3.30 reservation due to a family problem and the Manager kindly held my table for an hour. A big thankyou to all the staff at the Toby Inn Hemel Hempstead for an enjoyable afternoon and good food.

10/10food was fantastic first time at this particular toby as my usual one was fully booked,staff couldn't do enoughthe apple pie was to die for was given extra ice cream aswell can't knock that, best selection of veg thus far toby nice...!

8/10This is the second time that we have visited the Toby Carvery in Hemel Hempstead. The staff were very nice and welcoming. The selection of meats were great but the vegetable were cold yet again. We did mention it to the staff and were pleased that that we had pointed it out.

9/10Had a very enjoyable meal at Toby Carvery Hemel Hempstead. Very good value for drinks and 4 meals. Lovely atmosphere, nicely decorated. Clean and tidy. Glad I booked because it quickly got busy. I will return again

7/10The staff were extremely efficient and friendly. As always the carvery meats were tasty and plentiful. Once again the vegetables let the meal down - the roast potatoes were soft, the cabbage was dry and overcooked and the cauliflower cheese was watery. The whole meal would be a lot nicer if it was hotter and serving it on warmer plates would help. However, on the whole relatively good value for money.

4.5/10Very disappointed: * No one cam to our table once seated to take drinks order * Went up to get food still without any waiter * Returned to table, still no waiter but tables around us were all being waited ? * Had to walk to the bar and ask for drinks, staff member not very engaging * Ate the food wanted to order some deserts again had to wait 15mins again no acknowledgement and I had to go to the bar and ask for someone to take our order ? * Deserts ordered waited 20-25 before 3 came out (too long) * Once finished again no one to get the bill had to walk to the bar again * It felt our table was almost invisible to the staff, appalling I am strongly contemplating leave a negative google review, I would usually not do that but I think this poor experience cannot go unmentioned I hope someone will be in contact regards this feedback

8.5/10This carvery had a good atmosphere and was nearly full on a weekday evening. The food was good with a choice of four meats and a variety of vegetables A couple of issues though, I had to go to the counter to order the drinks. Re the food the carrots and onions were slightly underdone. Otherwise I recommend this place.

7/10Greeted by a member of the team and shown to our reserved table. When I approached the servers counter I was asked if I wanted the larger carvery portion plate, but wanted the regular sized plate. The Chef proceeded to slice the meats and placed smaller ‘off cuts’ to my plate. However, I noted full slices were given to those choosing the larger serving? Not sure if that is normal practice? The meal overall was satisfactory and an enjoyable evening had. Our server was very good and did look after us during our visit.

6/10The waitrsss Shanice who served us was charming, friendly and helpful . She frequently came to the table to ask if everything was ok and to see if we wanted anything. The veg tart was tasty but it was stone cold on the top and hot in the middle! The carvery table was dirty nd the vegetables looked as if they had been out since last Christmas!

2/10We booked a table for 2 adults and 5 children in the morning then as we were on our way to your restaurant I had a phonecall to say you was shutting due to a water leak. We was all very disappointed and couldnt get booked in anywhere else as all booked up. We had the worst evening ever and started to argue as we had nowhere else to go. Will never book again and deleting the app

7/10Although the meat selection was good and very tasty the vegetables were disappointing. The choice was limited there were no cabbage, broccoli or cauliflower. The carrots were so hard they were almost raw and I generally like my vegetables crunchy but this was ridiculous. The pasta dish which I assume was macaroni cheese was so dry it was inedible. The roast potatoes were quite nice but not crispy and the Yorkshire’s were as flat as pancakes. The staff were polite and efficient and everything looked very clean.

5.5/10Despite the vegetables being nice and firm, there was not much of a choice and was unappealing for a vegetarian. Also a lack of Condiments e.g no mint sauce or cranberry sauce.

2/10Absolute joke of a restaurant booked a table in advance turned up to be told no vegetables as issue in the kitchen no phone call from them even though they had staff standing around avoid Toby hemel Hempstead.

2/10My family and I are not happy at all, we waiting two weeks to finally be able to get a booking on a Sunday as gets booked very quickly and we were supposed to have a table at 4pm. When we arrived the reception desk said that the kitchen had issues with appliances and they couldn’t Cook anymore food until the maintenance staff arrived and they didn’t have any clue as to when this would happen so they sent us away. We were so disappointed and should have been called so we didn’t make the visit! When we were getting back in to the car we saw other people arriving and not getting sent away!! So we went back in to see if anything had changed and the staff at the front were very rude and dismissive and made out people were still getting sent away but we saw people being seated, we were appalled
