7.5/10Slow service. Table not prepared on arrival. Long wait to be served. Carvery Food excellent, but slow service here too as each meat portion weighed ( Never seen this done before at a Toby restaurant.) Request to pay bill also took an age, and had to chase up. Home of the Roast. More like Home of the long wait.

9.5/10I use Toby quite a lot. Recently I've noticed that we have no sooner finished our meal that the staff are bringing the bill. It has all the feel of a production line. I could understand if the Toby was busy. When I booked on line we were given 2 hours and only used half this time. Stop rushing to move people, take a breath.

9.5/10We arrived early and it was very very busy but we were pleasantly directed into the bar , got a drink and then they came and told us our table was ready , not too longer wait.. The waiters came introduced him self and advised we should join the queue plus also would we like pigs in blankets, food was plenty full and hot , shame no apple sauce , but still very nice Had a sweet very very nice yes we will be back

7.5/10I have dined here a number of times. The Toby carving has never disappointed me. I just do not think it’s smart to order off the card/menu. The server seem to have their hands full just bring out the drinks. If you want a good meal just have the carving and skip the desert.

6/10Booked a table for 19.30 Hardly any vegetables were available, all having ran out, the chef said due to being so short staffed and has been this way for some time.

8/10Have been a few times, the staff are really polite and helpful. The restaurant was a little chilly this time, and the food was nice but unfortunately only warm, not hot, but great value for money, will definitely go again.

10/10The food was great, and the staff really friendly and helpful, and the price was really reasonable. However the food did go cold pretty quickly, probably because it was quite cold in the restaurant and my plate wasn't very warm, however I had the first plate off a new pile, my friends plate was off the previous pile and her plate was quite hot. But would definitely go again.

10/10We love the Toby. Marie, our server, was excellent as always and made us feel very welcome. We will be back often. It is easy for us to get to, has good parking and has a nice atmosphere.

4/10Went to the Toby and was really disappointed The vegetables were all dried out it took the waitress 4 rings to even get the chef out to serve. We were the only people waiting The roast potatoes were so long out the potatoes in the middle was gone and it was chewy skin What an absolute waste of 62.00

8.5/10Well Located with ample parking. Seated immediately in private booth. Food quality very good with plenty of selection, only one small negative comment, the food could have been hotter especially the 'yorkshire puddings'. Drinks were reasonable prices and look forward to my next visit.

6.5/10I was sorry to have to inform you that after going to this establishment for some time i was very disappointed. The food was very good as usual how-ever there was not enough staff and the service was very slow. On going to the ladies I found the toilet paper on the side the roll soaking wet as if it has fallen in the toilet and just left there. Had I not been previously it would have put me off going again. Perhaps you can rectify these problems to ensure standards do not slip and i can enjoy the carvery again.

5.5/10i have eaten here many times but today the food was not up to its usual good standard. The meat was in short supply and what was available was overcooked. Not the usual variation of veg either

10/10This was my first visit to a toby carvery and overall i was quite impressed. Easy to book online and when i requested a change of time very politely handled. Our waiter, Harry ,was very polite and attentive and going up for our carvery was very easy. Quality and portions of food were excellent. Comfortable and pleasant ambience. Would recommend to others and having now been ourselves would go again. Jon M

10/10Was served by sharon and she gave us amazing service . Cantered very well for my daughtwrs needs . Went above and beyond . Very good service friendly and welcomed feeling by all . First part of our service from Louise was a shame . She needs to smile more and her service wouldn't go a miss needs more on her customer service like sharon.

10/10we were 1/2 hr late because of roadworks for our booking, when we arrived i apologised and was made to feel welcome, i was told not to worry as they were aware of the roadworks making people late, and our table was available for us. We were not rushed and was able to feel relaxed after our traumatic journey.

9/10Me and my wife and family and friends are regular customers at the Toby Newbury, excellent roast is always our favourite, my wife Pauline has the veggie option with lots of vegetables, staff are friendly and helpful, the booking service was easy and very quick.
