5/10Thought the food was quite bland, roast potatoes were over done and hard,mash so solid could hardly get it off the serving spoon and Yorkshire pudding tasted very cardboard. Ate here a while ago and was impressed but not impressed with this visit.

9.5/10Another good experience at Toby. It is nice to have a waitress who remembers your preferred drink and offers it as soon as you are seated. A good variety of vegetables including leek crumble which I had not seen before and was very tasty. Cheap and cheerful but none the worse for that.

8/10Always visit here if my daughter and friend want to go out for a carvery. Always plenty of diners as usual. Staff very welcoming. On this occasion though there wasn’t much choice of vegetables. i.e no leeks, cabbage, parsnips or green beans and the other options that they normally provide. Only had green peas and carrots and cauliflower cheese If we go again I will call in advance to ask what is on offer.

10/10Tonight it was not too busy and the atmosphere was lively. Our waitress was really friendly and helpful and we had a good rapport and enjoyed some good jokes together. She made sure we were comfortable at all times (I am disabled with a mobility scooter and she sorted out for me to be able to access the carvery area so I could choose my own food) and the quality of food was really good. A thoroughly enjoyable experience…

10/10Really enjoyed the meal today. Even though our party was late, we were still taken to our table and our waitress was very helpful. The beef was really tender and well cooked. The sauces were running low, but were replaced as soon as I requested. We were not rushed out as soon as we had finished our meals either. Very relaxed atmosphere. I will be returning.

10/10I was over on holiday from Ireland & my sister treated us to a carvery at the Toby Quinton. The food was excellent & the staff very friendly & helpful. We had a disabled person with us & 1 of the waitresses helped carry the extra plate to the table.

7/10The restaurant was very busy a little over crowded due to covid we were sitting back to back with others no space not right we had to wave the waitress to pay the bill we would have had deserts but wasn't asked so gave up

10/10Food was very good. I am a vegetarian and my friend has an allergy to diary, but we were catered for very well. Waitress was attentive and polite. Nothing was too much trouble, even bringing out a portion of plain cauliflower. Chef discussed diary options with my friend and suggestions. Very pleasant lunch / environment. Will definitely be visiting again soon.

8.5/10Celebrating my granddaughters First Holy Communion. All very good. Food was nice. We were all seated near each other. Staff friendly and helpful. Only criticism, the food was not quite hot enough for me. I’m a slow eater and my meal was cold by the time I finished it. Maybe I could ask for it to have a blast in a microwave for a short while, if that would be allowed

2/10My meal never took place because it was cancelled by the restaurant due to a water problem. A rebooking was offered for later in the evening but we had driven over 35 miles for this meal and it was too far to travel for a second time in one evening.. whilst very disappointing I appreciate that the restaurant had no choice.

6.5/10I have always enjoyed my meal in other past but this time food was cold and vegetarian gravy was not marked on the pot so could not tell and missed out having gravy ?? overall was not up to your usual standard I am use too.
