3.5/10Overpriced.. 60 odd pound for 4 meals, 3 of which were vegetables only! yorkshires were like dust. Gravy lumpy, parsnips rock solid

2/10Was like a cattle market the chefs were slow and did not seem interested I bought a drink and it tasted bad sent it Back and they gave me the same one back food was quite poor worst I’ve had in the times I’ve been there Will not be going back again which is a shame So will be looking to find somewhere else

5.5/10Wasked if I wanted a drink,i asked what lagers were available and I chose a Peroni. Went for my carvery which was ok,spoilt only by very dry vegetables.came back to table to find a pint of a lager,tasted it and it was NOT peroni but a cheap carling. The waitress had disappeared and other staff were running around like headless chickens. I ate some of my meal paid and left disappointed.

8/10Good food and excellent waitress who was very friendly and helpful and obviously rushed off her feet but still found time to be pleasant to all customers. Chap serving on the carvery a bit stern but adequate.

10/10the service and atmosphere was outstanding, the meal well what can I say, the best I've had in the north east. I was born and bred in north shields, still live there to this day. we have been in some places, I wouldn't let a stray dog eat in them. you should all be very proud of yourself's. it was my first time there, and we will be back again and again. anyone we speak to from this day on, we will be highly recommending you's. we wouldn't give you all 5 stars, we would give you's 10 stars. thank you so much for being the best in the UK. and thank you for making my future wife's birthday brilliant.

4.5/10Apart from the lady who greeted us and was very attentive, service for the rest of the meal was practically non-existent. The young man and woman waiting tables were too busy flirting with each other to attend to tables. I had to keep getting up from the table to find them. The young man was very dismissive, bordering on rude. Food was good but very little meat given..

2/10We stood over 5 minutes waiting for someone to show us the table I had previously booked . The waitress told us the food wasn’t ready and she would tell me when we could queue. After 25 minutes we asked when it was out turn only to be told “you just queue” the meat was so tuff we couldn’t eat it and the rest was cold. We asked for weak coffee and that was like mud. We complained only to be told the waitress would pass it on to the chef! We won’t be returning.

3.5/10I got beef at the carvery it was uneatable all fat and gristle to be fair when I told the waitress she went and got some turkey for me, however the rest of the food was below average. The place is crammed with tables far to close to each other you could hardly get through to the food

10/10Welcomed by a polite lady who asked us to wait in the bar area to wait for our table. Whilst ordering the drinks at the bar, our names were called and the barman was asked to take our drinks to our table. We were shown to our table and instructed to head to the carvery. By the time we got back to our table the drinks were there. The waitress checked in on us a couple of times and cleared our plates away once we were finished as well as arranged for the bill. I have used this place a few times , excellent staff and service , always clean and plenty of choice on the breakfasts and carvery.

5.5/10The food was bang on average! Only beef and turkey available, beef was chewy and turkey tasteless, and the meat portion was small. Veg exactly what you expect after sitting under heat lamps. Yorkies and roasties nice.

5.5/10Staff were very friendly. Meet portion was poor and very chewy, the gravy was also very lumpy. The air con was on so made it very cold. We always love the food here so was disappointed this time.

9/10What’s not to like? The Toby Carvery is a British staple, serving thousands of customers a week who don’t wish to wait until Sunday for a beautiful roast dinner. For less than the price of 2 pints of lager in London, you can go King Size and stuff your face until you can’t breathe, and the food is awesome. Bravo Toby!
