I got beef at the carvery it was uneatable all fat and gristle to be fair when I told the waitress she went and got some turkey for me, however the rest of the food was below average. The place is crammed with tables far to close to each other you could hardly get through to the food

Welcomed by a polite lady who asked us to wait in the bar area to wait for our table. Whilst ordering the drinks at the bar, our names were called and the barman was asked to take our drinks to our table. We were shown to our table and instructed to head to the carvery. By the time we got back to our table the drinks were there. The waitress checked in on us a couple of times and cleared our plates away once we were finished as well as arranged for the bill. I have used this place a few times , excellent staff and service , always clean and plenty of choice on the breakfasts and carvery.

The food was bang on average! Only beef and turkey available, beef was chewy and turkey tasteless, and the meat portion was small. Veg exactly what you expect after sitting under heat lamps. Yorkies and roasties nice.

We were disappointed with the selection of vegetables that were on offer and the quantity too ( scraping the bottom of the pots to get anything). Whilst I appreciate it was 7.30 ish before we sat down, there should have been the same amount as those diners that were in earlier had. Our waitress at 8.40 slapped the bill on the table ( I hadn’t asked for the bill at this point) and immediately asked how we were paying, cash or card, before I’d even looked at the bill. Shame really as we’ve been before and been pleased with everything but on this occasion we were very seriously disappointed and dissatisfied.

4 people dined , 3 had carvery, 1 asked for gluten free menu, she was given the tablet to look through, they 'forgot' to return to take order , only thing available was a salad, comprising of lettuce leaves , 3 mini tomatoes and brown edged lettuce . Spoilt the whole experience

The roast beef was stringy and hard to chew. The lovely sponge pudding was spoilt with black treacle spread thick on top. I expected golden syrup when it said syrup sponge on the menu.

What’s not to like? The Toby Carvery is a British staple, serving thousands of customers a week who don’t wish to wait until Sunday for a beautiful roast dinner. For less than the price of 2 pints of lager in London, you can go King Size and stuff your face until you can’t breathe, and the food is awesome. Bravo Toby!
