A little disappointing; flavours were good but the eggs from the starter we ordered was undercooked and we were unable to eat it. We had one lovely waiter and the other was very rushed and not attentive.
The food was good, we had the two course meal each. We felt there was a long time in between courses and we noticed that happened with the tables around us. Our waiter was very attentive and we enjoyed the evening. I hope next time does not take so long in between courses
Lovely lunch with excellent service. Thank you for a lovely visit. Three course meal booked via Buy a gift Shard Experience, recommend to anybody great value and you can manage when you want to book!
Average service that was disappointing. Food is Ok but far from being outstanding.
Food was tasty on the whole but portions were a bit limited. Lamb dish was tasty but a very poor cut of meat and was barely warm enough when served
Very enjoyable lunch
This is somewhere we meet with family and friends every time we visit London. We all love the food and the atmosphere - this is one of our favourite happy places.
Excellent food & service. Roberto the GM gave us a tour of the kitchen and Andre the waiter was great. Would highly recommend.
Very disappointing. Our booking was for a 4-course meal with pre-dinner signature cocktail, Italian dolcetti and a kitchen tour, all for £30 per person. The receptionist upon on our arrival (bang on 7pm as it happens) was very vague and did not appear to know too much about our booking. That said we were ushered to the bar where we clarified the position with the bartender and duly received our cocktails. Some 20 mins+ passed before I decided to find out when we might be seated as I thought we might be left at the bar indefinitely. A few minutes later we did get shown to our table __ next to a big dividing wall between us and the main part of the restaurant (building design I guess). The £30 “special” menu duly arrived but choices were limited to 3 items for each course (incl 1 veggie). Food itself was average, and we never did get the 4th course nor a tour of the kitchen. I suppose I could have asked but quite frankly I do not expect to go out of my way to prompt the restaurant staff, nor be treated as some kind of pariah just because we were utilising a "bookatable" offer. We’ve recently dined at the Ritz, the Paternoster Chop House, and the Oxo Tower. I’m sorry Gordon but this was by far the worst. TV.
Had a really amazing evening. The staff was very attentive and went above and beyond. It was my birthday together with my friend's one and they made us two birthday's plate and when we went to do our kitchen tour, the chefs sang happy birthday to us and made us two more birthday plates. It was a really special and unforgettable experience. The food as well was very good, we were already full by the time we got to our main dishes. Some of us had to take it home. The cocktails were also delicious. So I will definitely recommend it to anyone. I want to say a massive thank you to everyone at Union Street Café, you were amazing.
Delicious food, personal service & the kitchen tour was an extra touch that we haven’t experienced before
Food and service very good, an interesting visit to the kitchen too
Excellent food and wine selection Enjoyed especially the cheese board selection the Pork rib eye and chicken liver ragu They brought out a lovely sorbet for my girlfriends birthday too! Would love to go back again
Great atmosphere, helpful staff and delicious food
4 of us went for my husbands birthday - I had booked an on line special offer £30 for four courses with kitchen tour -it was the kitchen tour that attracted me as my husband is in catering When we got there the special menu had been printed off with Happy Birthday emblazoned across it -to be honest we were a bit disappointed with the choices and asked if we could go Al la carte but still have the kitchen tour -they staff were great and said no problem . Each dish we had was sublime and come dessert my husband was served an Ice cream on a beautiful platter with happy birthday Ian in chocolate writing across it and a birthday card signed by all the staff --so so special we then did the kitchen tour which was amazing and two more opportunities for the staff to sing happy birthday and another happy birthday dessert !! It really was the most wonderful evening so an enormously huge thank you to all the staff -all 4 of us cant wait to go back
Really nice place to eat, very welcoming, great food, perfect service!
5* from start to finish. Kitchen tour deal was fabulous and fun.
My friends and I thoroughly enjoyed our experience at Union Street Cafe. The attention to detail from the welcome to the service throughout was delightful. I especially liked when the waitress dropped a hint that she had a surprise after dessert that would be filled in later. And this was when we were ordering our first courses! Favourite dish can’t be picked, they were all lovely. But the apricot crumble as a gluten free person who hasn’t eaten crumble in years was sublime. The skin on the seabass could have been crispier but hey. The chocolate truffles with our complimentary after dinner cocktail was a perfect way to end the evening. I’d return.
the Italian egg starter was very good. I have chicken thigh as second course, again very tasty and Tender. The on house choclate at the end, must be home made and was delicious. The tour of the kitchen was very interesting and now I understand why the menu change and is only a short menu everyday to ensure freshness. Staff very friendly and has good service.
Good overall but not as good as i was expecting from the GR group. The food was good value but it was not outstanding. Service again good but nothing special. And that was it, everything was good but nothing was outstanding i would not go back and wouldn't say ' you've got to go to .....' quite forgettable.
