Service was quick despite what other reviews said. Food was good but nothing unforgettable. We had aperitives, some canapes, scallops (charged extra) which were delicate and tasty, rabit for main and the honey dessert - nice touch that the honey comb was added at the table.

First time in London and was recommended to try Michelin 1 star restaurants for easy to get in, quality of food and service. I did a quick google search and was so pleased to be able to reserve a table before our show at the the Dominion Theatre. We selected an Early Supper menu items - 3 courses due to being short on time. The food was good, but the service is what really stood out for me. I definitely would recommend it. I wish we had more time at dinner. The decor and ambience was top notch. My classic Gin martini was very good. We were also seated at a charming velvet booth, truly one of the best parts of my visit was people watching at this restaurant, seeing everyone enjoy themselves without pretentiousness.

Fabulous lunch with memorable highlights for me of the scallop starter and the famous custard tart. The attention to detail came with a professional, friendly and happy service. Topped off with a foodie conversation with the patron himself.

I had a business lunch with a colleague and was delighted to see Lievre (Hare) a la Royale on the menu. This is an extremely difficult dish to prepare well and it was beautifully executed. The sauce was fantastic. Presentation and side dishes were also superb. The dessert of custard tart was also outstanding. The chef is to be congratulated.

Food was ok’ish and unremarkable, and def not worth the price for bad service. Loads of waiters standing around and still had to wait ages for someone to acknowledge my existence. Overall, ambience was nice but only memorable part of the night was dessert.

The food was outstanding. Small menu but everything was super fresh and original . The chef came out to see us and serve the main course which was a very nice touch. My only reservation was the rather intrusive music from the restaurant next door.

Mostly very fine food, friendly but intrusive and hovering staff, and execrable atmosphere thanks to the exceedingly loud and jarring music -- there are better choices to be had in Pall Mall.

Excellent pre theater menu value for foodies in this Michelin starred St James restaurant. Presentation and flavour excellent particularly the fish (bream?). Though we we felt rushed through and asked them to slow down, which they did. Nice modern vibes and good music playing. Drinks are good too, hotel prices though. Would return.

I'd made reservations a few months ago for my daughter and I to eat at this restaurant, we had our dinner, then ordered drinks afterwards, the drinks took a very long time to be served, as a matter of fact, we ne er received our drinks, in the interim, the hostess came to our table and asked us to leave our table because she needed the table for another reservation. I'm not sure why she singled us out from everyone else in the restaurant, there were others that had been at their tables for a longer time than my daughter and I were at our table. I felt humiliated. Being asked to render our table for someone else really felt hurtful, and to be honest, a bit racist. Our entire evening was ruined by this. We were shocked and angry the rest of the evening. Tomorrow is our final day in lovely London, I won't allow this experience to ruin the rest of our stay, though, I will return to the restaurant to have a word with the manager to let him/her know how this horrible experience made us feel. I strongly do NOT recommend this place to anyone.
