The staff were very welcoming. The food we had was delicious. Fillet steak. The menu was somewhat limited with more vegan options than meat products. We would go there again if the menu was offering a better choice as on a menu displayed on line at the time of booking.

Beautiful setting. Seated on verandah. Great staff. Inventive menu. Lovely food beautifully presented. I can find no fault with anything. And the gardens were lovely too.

Had a lovely dinner here while staying in Alfriston. We have been on a Keto diet and it was great we could order sides which were diet friendly. All food was amazing and waitresses were very friendly and attentive. Will visit again when we come back.

Clean and roomy dining-room. Delightful waitresses. Food was good, portions the right size. Background music at the right level.

Very attentive staff. Good choice on the menu. Everyone enjoyed their food. Sharper steak knives for the roast beef would have been nicer. Also, it was a special birthday celebration and a ‘happy birthday’ on a dessert would have been a nice touch. It was a shame that the restaurant was not very busy, this detracted from the ambience a little.

We visited on a Friday night and it was extremely quiet probably about 6 tables occupied.Four of us had a drink in the bar first of all, the bill was £33.00,Overall the food was satisfactory. I had Venison which was beautifully cooked , some of the guests had pheasant, which unfortunately was overcooked. This was brought to the attention of the very charming waiter. Some of the guests , there were 8 of us in total, wanted bread, which had to be ordered and did not come complimentary. we did have wine as well with the meal but the bill was £500 . We were charged £16.00 for bread !!!!! absolutely ridiculous !!!!!!!!!!

The service has improved no end, back to how it used to be. The food was ok, the steak was disappointing, a cheaper cut, much preferred the sirloin. Overall though we'd totally come back, which we wouldn't have said a year ago.. definitely more expensive and food not as good as rathfinney, but we had a good night and the staff were much more attentive than our last visits.

Food was very good. We only had 2 courses as the bread and oil beforehand was enough whilst we waited for the main course. We had fish and pork which was excellent. Wine was rather plonked ready opened in a cooler on the table. The wine had no cork so may be it does not need to be looked at first. We have stayed at this hotel many times under the previous management. We came here specially for 80th b/day dinner last August - 6 of us. We stayed at another hotel with a pool - excellent for the grandchild particularly and us of course. We come for Glyndebourne and the 7 sisters walking and the pretty Alfriston village. We love it all. We still like your hotel very much.

Lovely setting for a restaurant, but we both expected more from the food. The pork rillet was nice but my salmon and thai salad was uninspired. Goat cheese chicken with risotto was edible and my steak was up to reasonable pub standard. Deserts were pleasant enough but again 'pub grub' style. We were hoping for fine dining and the food did not make it. Could be so much better with some real care and dedication.

Lovely venue for a relaxed Sunday lunch. We were fortunate with the Easter weather so they set up a table for us outside in their patio area looking over the walled garden. They weren’t busy but the service was a bit hit n miss however the quality of the food was excellent. Two of us had a lamb roast which was nicely blush pink and I had a roast chicken dish which was very tasty. Desserts were nicely presented on the plate. Only issue at Wingrove House is the shortage of parking, they have only a tiny car park which holds about 12 cars and I wouldn’t even bother trying to park on the narrow lane overlooking the village green. I cheekily parked in a large car park adjacent to Dean’s Place which is only about 150 metres up the road.

This was our first visit but we will certainly return before long. We were made to feel most welcome by the people with whom we had contact and the food was top class.

Had a wonderful stay over the Valentines Weekend - the quality of the food was superb and the staff were both efficient and friendly. The restaurant is laid out well with plenty of room between the tables and has a pleasing atmosphere. All in all a really good and memorable experience. We shall definitely be returning.
