Excellent food as always. Service was a little slow but it might just be because it was a Saturday night and they were very busy and there did seem to be a lot of takeaway drivers coming in to pick up orders. Also, while we booked online, they were not aware of the booking and told us bookings need to be made at least 24 hrs in advance. However, they did manage to find a tabel to squeeze us in.

An absolutely fabulous restaurant with the most delicious food I've eaten in Oxford. The atmosphere was great and reflects the wonderful and vibrant community of Cowley Road. 10 out of 10. Can't wait to go again!

Took a while for us to be able order although the restaurant was not very busy, then 1 main was delivered so we shared it until the other main was delivered (about 15 minutes). Food was very nice once it arrived, shame about the delay.

Arrived for our booking for 7pm with the restaurant about 40% full. We were asked for our booking and then attempted to be seated at one of those “table-come not tables” at the front of the restaurant. I asked if we can be seated at an actual table further in the restaurant however was told that the tables are booked. Bit puzzled, as i had also booked, did’nt realise you were able to book specific tables?! After putting up a bit of a fuss they seated us in the restaurant at a proper table. Nevertheless, the table next to us was vacant throughout our dinner. Go figure. Drinks arrived promptly, with the lemonades and milkshake nice. I had a 7Up- avoiding brands linked with a certain company, which was well stocked. For starters we ordered the trio hummus, which has presence, however lacks the promise of a tasty starter when eaten. The flatbreads served with them are hot and freshly cooked. Falafel was good as was the sweet potato fries. I ordered the chicken maqloobah whilst my wife ordered a chicken tagine. For the kids , however it was quite difficult with no defined kids menu. We settled on a chicken fateyah for the boys without sauce and not spiced which they were ok with. The separate rice for my rice-mad son never arrived. The food was tasty and with no complaints. With the subtle spicing of the chicken, and the flavours bold and vibrant. Wiuld have expected the chicken tagine, served in a tagine but perhaps they only do that in Morroco itself. The service was good, except for seating. Overall, food good, drinks limited, service good, hospitality open to question. A good restaurant but wouldn’t stretch to say the best or as sometimes described on TripAdvisor reviews.

Had iftar at Zaatar bake a few days ago. The open buffet was incredible, really tasty food. The staff was working really hard despite how busy it was, and the ambience was just perfect. Made us feel welcome and right at home. Not too mention, the prices are so reasonable as well. Highly recommended!

Went into the restaurant with a booking at 19:00 told me they did not accept any booking after 12:00. Dont know how you expect one to book several hours before.

Food was fantastic, as was the atmosphere here, loved it. Staff were really friendly and helpful, and the baklava was amazing. Wish there was something like this locally to us but will definitely be going back next time we are in Oxford

Everything was great but the music was so loud like in a disco, to speak we had to shout and left with our throat’s hurting, we requested for it to be turned down twice of which they did each time but slowly increased the volume and each time louder than before, this is the only reason why we might not return, we were a group of friends catching up, but this plan failed due to loud music. Don’t get me wrong it was really good music but just to loud for dining.

Tasty food - better and more flair last time we went but maybe just picked simpler dishes this time. Service a little disorganised but they get the job done. They were really honest and made a feature of one end of the restaurant being really warm by the oven and the other end cooler by the door.
