Known for its concrete cows, Milton Keynes is also home to Bletchley Park, where Sir Alan Turing cracked the German Enigma code during WWII. You can see the Enigma machines in person when you take a day out to what is now Bletchley Park museum. Afterwards, head into town to sample one of many great restaurants in Milton Keynes.
You’ll find a big selection of smart British and European chain venues amongst Milton Keynes restaurants, along with many traditional pubs. One such rustic venue is the Swan Inn: an ancient thatched building in Milton Keynes Village, just east of the main town. The menu is all about modern British favourites with some global influences. The Sunday lunch menu here offers a range of hearty treats including a selection of roasts, and a traditional oxtail & kidney suet pudding.
For fine dining Italian style, it has to be the Sapori, which is based in Woburn, a 15-minute drive from central Milton Keynes. Contemporary and elegant, Sapori specialises in dishes hailing from Puglia in southern Italy. On the menu, look out for tempting delicacies like fresh pasta, and luxurious truffle-heavy dishes.
