Gorkarna the chef (Nepalese) has a real talent...
Nestled deep in the Kent countryside, Tunbridge Wells still has good connections to London, with frequent trains to Charing Cross. Tunbridge Wells shoppers flock to the Pantiles, a picturesque Georgian colonnade now housing art galleries, boutiques, cafes, and bars. Restaurants in Tunbridge Wells include several elegant brasseries, along with a smattering of reliable chain venues.
You’ll also find some rather welcoming contemporary gastro pubs amongst Tunbridge Wells restaurants. One such eatery is The Black Pig Pub and Dining Room, set just minutes from Tunbridge Wells Rail Station. The Black Pig showcases a modern rustic style, with cuisine predominantly modern British, with a sprinkling of Mediterranean flavour. Look out for their special menu on Sundays, which is rather more creative and surprising than the usual Sunday roast.
For fine dining with an Italian twist, it has to be Signor Franco Ristorante, which is also just a hop, skip and a jump from the town’s train station. Head chef Franco Furriello sources all ingredients locally or from Italy, and dishes are artfully presented versions of authentic Italian specialties.
